Women's Barbell Classic 2026
I hold my lifters to a high standard.
I expect them to have the courage to take on challenges. I expect them to be able to self motivate. I expect them to be able to adapt to unfamiliar circumstances. I expect them to be disciplined in doing what is required to prepare for what they are taking on.
Reflecting on yesterday’s meet, I have never been more proud of this team, that is comprised of many different ages and many different levels of experience.
Throughout the day, everyone was where they needed to be, when they needed to be there. Everyone was focused and fully prepared for each of their lifts. Everyone was excuse-less on the day.
My most frequently used coaching point for the day was something along the lines of “I have nothing to say to you, you know what to do, go out there and do it.” Everyone was repeatedly prepared for each moment.
This embodiment of my training philosophy was more than enough to satisfy me as a coach, and what I consider to be our biggest win of the day. But it was not our only victory.
