It’s been a busy few weeks behind the scenes. Between classes, private sessions, and teacher training, I’ve been spending more time teaching than posting. Looking forward to sharing more movement tips and studio updates again soon.

One of the reasons I became so passionate about postpartum fitness is that women are often expected to “return to exercise” without being given the tools to reconnect to their bodies first.

These foundational pieces matter not just for recovery, but for long-term strength, stability, and confidence in movement.

This philosophy became such a core part of my work that I eventually co-wrote a prenatal + postpartum teacher training course with , launching soon.

Whether working with clients in the studio or training instructors, my goal is always the same: to help women feel supported through one of the biggest transitions their body will experience.

Summer in Vermont is around the corner, which means longer days and more time to get outside. ☀️

One of the things I love most about Pilates is how much it carries over into daily life. In Pilates we build balance to use on uneven trails, mobility to access rotation for paddling, golf or racket sports, and the kind of core strength that helps you keep going through long active days.

So you aren’t just stronger in the studio, but more capable in the life you actually live. 🌿

What are you most looking forward to doing this summer?

Pregnancy doesn’t need to mean disconnecting from your body.

In many cases, movement can help support comfort, strength, circulation, stress relief, balance, and overall well-being throughout pregnancy. But as the body changes week to week, the right guidance can make a huge difference in how movement feels and functions.

I’ve always believed women deserve more support during this phase of life. Not fear around movement, but education, confidence, and tools that help them feel strong and connected to themselves through pregnancy and into the postpartum period.

It’s what led me to specialize in this work, and eventually co-write a prenatal & postpartum teacher training course with

And at the heart of it all is still this: it’s an honor to support women through such a powerful transition. 🤍

Mat is often seen as less exciting than using the Reformer. But in many ways, it demands more of you.

Without the feedback and resistance of the springs, you have to create the work yourself.
You learn where your body is in space, how to organize it, and how to generate support from within.

It can be more challenging not because it’s more intense, but because it’s more revealing.

Mat has a way of showing you where your strength drops off, especially through the core, and where you might be relying on the equipment to guide you.

Adding Mat into your routine can improve everything else, from your Reformer classes to your favorite spring sports.

Jumpboard tends to get labeled as the “cardio class”…but it’s really just a different approach to the work.

Yes, you’ll get your heart rate up. And yes, there’s a focus on the lower body. But it’s still a full Pilates class: arms, back, and core, plus you’re not jumping the entire time.

What makes it unique is the combination:
joint-friendly impact to support bone health,
strength through the legs and feet,
and the added challenge of maintaining core stability while you move.

It’s also a chance to experience familiar concepts in a new way which is often where the most learning happens.

And… it’s fun.

If you’ve been curious, try one of our jumpboard classes on the schedule.

Katherine, co-director of PAI, was in town this week working with me to film PAI’s Prenatal/Postpartum Teacher Training Workshop... Excited to share more soon!

While she was here, we carved out time for a small class with teachers + teachers in training. Take a look at a few clips from that session, it was a wonderful opportunity to learn, refine and experience the work together.

If you’re curious about teacher training, our next Mat training begins in May. Reach out for details.

Front Rowing on the Reformer is one of my favorites because it’s so dynamic.

You’re building shoulder control while expanding the range you can move through, all while the spine stays mobile and responsive.

It’s not about holding still. It’s about bringing control from more basic work into fluid, full-body movement.
