There are still plenty of ways to get out on the water this fall! ☀️🚣

Umiak will continue offering boat rentals on Saturdays and Sundays through October 12, 2026. Our Stowe location will also continue offering car-top rentals daily, and you’re welcome to take the boat wherever you’d like!

We’ll also be offering weekday boat deliveries to Waterbury Reservoir, along with guided paddles on Thursdays.

Today is the final day for our river tours this season as water levels begin to drop, but we’re excited to keep getting people out on the water in other ways throughout the fall.

A quick note on locations: Waterbury Center State Park will be closed for the season after today, but you can still park in the upper parking lot and walk around the gate to access the water.

Today, Monday, September 7, is also the final day of the season for our Richmond location, so rentals there have ended.

I’m a pretty anxious person and I’m not very confident when it comes to swimming, so being on the water makes me nervous. I randomly decided to be brave and try it, and the guy helping us with the canoe rental was honestly so kind and helpful that he made me feel way less anxious. It ended up being such a fun experience, especially for my first time!

Join us on August 29, 2026, at Waterbury Center State Park for Jam for the Parks 2026, a music-festival-style celebration on the beautiful Waterbury Reservoir benefiting Vermont State Parks.

Music, paddling, local flavor, and a great cause! Enjoy great bands along with local food, craft beverages, family-friendly activities, and more.

Make a full day of it on the water with Umiak Outdoor Outfitters, offering kayak, canoe, and standup paddleboard rentals right at the park. Paddle the reservoir, catch some live music, and come back to enjoy the festival atmosphere, all while supporting Vermont’s 55 state parks.

A portion of event proceeds will go directly to Vermont Parks Forever, helping preserve and advocate for these special places.

Umiak's summer rentals, river trips, and demos will be concluding in the coming weeks. As a result, we are putting our rental fleet and demo boats up for sale to our patrons. By participating in our PRE-BUY Sale, you can benefit from a $50.00 - $100.00 reduction on our already discounted prices and select from the most in-demand models. Hannaford Supermarkets has dropped in at Umiak in Stowe today as part of their Hanny Road Trip! ⭐️ Swing on by and say hi to these wonderful folks and enjoy a free seltzicle! A refreshing combination of a popsicle dropped into a seltzer. A perfect sweet treat on this beautiful sunny day! I’d say their set up looks pretty great next to our boats😎 (p.s. the raspberry lime is our favorite so far!)
