Our goal at Umiak is to offer an array of outdoor adventure services that enhance the enjoyment of nature by building confidence, skills and knowledge. Our products and services run the gamut with something for everyone in every season.
Our retail location on Rte 100 in Stowe carries many different models of canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards from some of the world’s top manufacturers. We also carry paddles, PFDs, spray skirts, car racks, and apparel making us a one-stop paddle shop! In addition to retail sales, our ACA certified staff lead demos, clinics and guided trips every week that cater to everyone from beginners to seasoned paddlers. With varying distances and difficulties, our self-guided programs are also great for a wide range of skill sets. In the winter Umiak turns into Stowe’s backcountry ski and snowshoe specialist. We’re Vermont’s leading Tubbs Snowshoe dealer, and carry other winter brands such as Fischer, Rossignol, Madshus, Voile, K2, Black Diamond, G3, Scott, Dynafit, and Scarpa.
