Morning skimo and, yes, split-mo racers! Please rev your quads up for the Stowe Mountain Heritage Race on 01 March 2026! We're back with an even better course, better timing system, beautiful venue and, if the early season is any indication, the BEST SNOW in the United States!

Please register soon, as we are capping at 100 racers this year and expect the Stowe venue to pull much more attention. We'll be sending out a race email during the first week in February to everyone who is registered thus far. In the meantime, you can always reach out to me with questions.

Tell your friends! Train hard! Let's gooooo!

Day 19........19 days, 1 hour and 25 minutes. I finally finished it. I started with the goal of doing it unsupported and then I quickly realized I couldn't do it. Nobody can get through this life unsupported. With any issue we have that's tearing us apart, you can't get through it without support from someone else. And we're not weak for asking for help. We're actually stronger. So we shouldn't feel ashamed, embarrassed or weak. Time alone helped me think about these things and appreciate the life that I have. Thank you for all your support.

Day 18......Spent last night at Tillotson Camp looking down at the Boy Scout Camp on Lake Eden where my boy has been this week. A couple of old friends surprised me at Vt 242 and took me into Jay village for a quick resupply. Great to see Tom Kontos and Dustin Dearborn.
I got some news a few days ago that a local guy from Morrisville committed su***de recently. It reminded me that i's not just Veterans who feel they have no other way out. The VT Su***de Prevention Center supports programs for all Vermonters.

Looks like I'll finish this adventure tomorrow. I'll hike up and over Jay Peak to Journey's End. Looking forward to going home.

Day 17....missed a call from the Belvidere fire tower at around 2pm, so I think it's safe to assume he's under cover at Tillotson Camp protected from the storm. Alex has walked 247 miles in 17 days and we are blown away by donations from those of you who are following along. Your generosity matches his efforts. Thank you.

Day 16.....I'd like to thank 2 pretty awesome people. Jeff Wimette has kept me company, cooked for me and helped get my water for the last 24 miles. My pace is slow, but he's cool with it. I also want to give a shout out to Tanner Frost and Nuclear Crossfit in Lubbock. I have to believe all those workouts made some of this easier. At Corliss Camp tonight, up and over Belvidere tomorrow. The end is in sight.

Days 14 and 15......Joined Alex last night at Taylor Lodge, then were treated this morning with breakfast and coffee provided by Mary Slayton-Speer and Greg. It's great to see how many friends want to help Alex along the way, providing food and company. This afternoon he was fueled by food and hug from his parents, a hug from old friends Bert Severin and Ryane Severin, and the incredible company of Jeffrey Wimette for the next two days. He's got a long day ahead of him to make his destination tomorrow and Jeffrey will help get him there. You all touch my heart. And while I know that hiking the Long Trail is something people do every day, all of you are helping raise awareness and support for our servicemen, keeping the attention where it belongs - on them. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.

Day 13.....Met him in Jonesville after a 21 mile day. Taking a minute to soak his feet. He said,"286 veterans have killed themselves since I started." That stopped me in my tracks. Helping him fuel up for tomorrow. Can't decide if he can make the 23 mile push to Rt 108 or split it up

Day 11.......Today was my first day of real support. All I had to do was ask. Hitched a ride into Waitsfield after waking up at 4:30 am in the rain (no room in the shelter last night so slept on the ground). Freezing and shivering, a kind lady offered me a ride. Elizabeth Lee Sargent met me to help me dry out my things, buy some new socks and some food. At Battell Shelter tonight, Birch Glen Shelter tomorrow night. Over halfway done with 150 miles (or so) under my belt. Heard about the donations. Thanks to everyone's generosity! Keep it coming for those who need it most!
