🏆ATHLETE HIGHLIGHT #2: EMMA Em Ro Llo⚡️
This one makes me really proud.
Emma started with me just after the pandemic, personal training once a week, long before BEU looked anything like what it does today. Before the big classes, before HYROX, before the events, before we really even understood what this community could become. Emma believed in it anyway.
Over the years I’ve watched her go from casually personal training to becoming a full fledged BEU athlete, training 4 to 6 days a week, competing in CrossFit competitions, running races, taking on HYROX and building lifelong friendships here.
Emma is incredibly smart, a linguist, an amazing teacher, a proud Peruvian woman, a world traveler and someone who is actively learning and incorporating Spanish into her everyday life.
She has also navigated Type 1 diabetes and celiac disease since she was young, and coaching her has taught me just as much as I hope I’ve taught her. She has trusted me enough to be transparent about her body, her fueling, hydration, recovery, when we can push and when we need to pull back.
As a coach, there is something really special about getting to watch someone evolve right alongside your business.
Emma, thank you for believing in me and BEU before there was much proof of what any of this could become. Watching you become the athlete you are today while BEU was becoming what it is today is something I’ll always be proud of.
And featuring Winnie on a Wednesday was obviously necessary.
