an appreciation post for the beautiful, abundant place that we call home💕✨ Humboldt, County 🦋🌲🐌

I moved to Humboldt in 2011. I played soccer at Cal Poly Humboldt and I remember when I came on my recruitment trip I had the thought ‘wow I found my people!!!’

I fit right in. I loved the community, the nature, everything about this place made my heart sing.

When I graduated from cal poly in 2014 I was planning to move abroad and experience another country for a bit but right before I moved I met my husband 🥲 NorCal Exterior

I remember thinking ‘oh no am I really staying for a guy?!’
Well yes haha and I’m soooo grateful I did! We’ve bought two homes and had our amazing daughter here, we have a supportive group of friends, and one thing I absolutely love about this place is how shopping local and supporting the local economy is deeply important to most individuals.

Because it’s true: when you support local you are supporting a family in your community and 9/10 times that person is going to turn around and spend their money back into the community. Supporting local is how we will implement the change we wish to see in the world!

So yes I love this place. I always have and always will and I am so grateful for all of the community members that make up Humboldt county. I am incredibly honored to have a business in Arcata and share my love of Pilates and exercise with this sweet community.

Happppppy Birthday to our angel, Michele 🥳🥳🥳🥳

Michele is a pure angel to this earth. Her kindness, her patience, her love for life emanates into everything she does. She is an absolutely amazing Pilates teacher, as you all know, and she is an exquisite human. We are SO grateful to have her in the Movewell team and get to hang out with her often. She radiates love and light wherever she goes!!

Pilates and Flower Picking!!

50 minute Pilates class. Fun, dynamic, and challenging! This class will be invigorating and upbeat with modifications offered throughout the class. We will work our entire body while focusing on posture, balance, and breath.

After class we will all pick a bouquet! You can bring your own vase or there are jars provided while you pick flowers.

Please bring your own mat and water!

Hi lovely Movewell community,

We’ve had some big changes and new faces here so I felt it was time to re introduce myself and Movewell ✨✨

My name is Tamra. I’m a mother, wife, Pilates teacher, business owner, friend, silly goose, and a lover of life. At my core I am an optimist with such a deep love for life, beauty, and connection. I am incredibly grateful to be here and share that with you.

I created Movewell to embody these essential human needs; Movement, connection, love, community, and beauty.

My love for Pilates began when I was 18 years old (17 years ago 😘) when I was playing college soccer I discovered Pilates and yoga. I fell in love with Pilates. It made me feel strong and aligned without pain. It was the low impact strength based exercise I needed to balance out the vigorous training of being a college athlete.

I started teaching it to my fellow teammates, friends, boyfriends, and then eventually in 2014 got my full certification from BASI Pilates. Since then I have specialized in pre natal and postpartum Pilates, Pilates for rehabbing injuries, and I have completed a 200hr yoga teacher training. In the past 5 years I have been studying the fascia system and taking courses on how the fascia relates to fitness and my most recent training has been in Reiki.

I absolutely love human movement and that’s what led me to study and complete my BS in Kinesiology, Exercise Science at Cal Poly Humboldt.

Here at Movewell we focus on personalized training because each individual is vastly different. We honor the necessary details that Pilates offers. When you take class with us you have our full attention from a highly qualified Pilates teacher. Our teachers at Movewell are all fully certified Pilates teachers, have completed thousands of hours of training, we have served hundreds of clients, and we are compassionate, caring humans.

We offer private sessions and small group classes.

We cannot wait to move well with you and inspire you to deepen the love for yourself through Pilates ♥️♥️♥️
