One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned from running Sweat Science is this:
It’s not hard. It’s just new.
When I first started, everything felt overwhelming.
Creating content.
Managing staff.
Handling sales.
Solving problems.
Making decisions.
Every challenge felt difficult because I had never done it before.
But over time, I realised something.
Most things aren’t hard because they’re impossible.
They’re hard because they’re unfamiliar.
The first class you teach is scary.
The first sales call is awkward.
The first video you post feels uncomfortable.
Then you do it again.
And again.
And again.
Eventually, what once felt difficult becomes second nature.
I’ve seen the same thing happen with boxing.
A beginner struggles to throw a jab.
A few months later, they’re moving confidently around the gym.
Not because boxing got easier.
Because it stopped being new.
So if you’re facing something that feels difficult right now, ask yourself:
Is it really hard, or is it just new?
Sometimes the only way forward is to keep showing up until unfamiliar becomes familiar
