🏁 South Island Endurance Series Teretonga Park

Awesome weekend at our home track, Teretonga Park, for the final round of the South Island Endurance Series

Friday was a great day of practice, cracking into the 1:06s, which I was stoked with.

Saturday started with qualifying, where I didn’t quite maximise the new tyre but made it work, qualifying P5 overall and P1 out of the GR86s

Starting P5 for the race, I got a great start and built a gap of around 5 seconds to the next GR86. After our compulsory pit stop, a slower car in the pit lane cost us a couple of seconds, putting me out behind Nathan. I managed to work my way past him and build another 5-second gap to the next GR86 behind.

We came home P7 overall and P1 out of the GR86s!

🏁 RACE WEEK | TERETONGA PARK

Back in the GR86 this week, getting some laps under my belt before the season kicks off! 🔥

This weekend we’re heading to Teretonga Park for the South Island Endurance Series, competing in Class 4 with Mackenzie Motorsport.

The best part is that this weekend will be livestreamed! 📺🏎️ I’ll share more information on where to watch as we get closer to the weekend, so stay tuned!

Bit of a recap from yesterday! 🏁

Had such a blast and a massive thanks to the Tony Quinn Foundation for the opportunity.

We started the day by saying hello to everyone, introducing myself and getting my seat fitted, ready for the day ahead.

First up was a practice session. The car felt really good, and it was all about learning the car and getting used to the track and car combo.

Next was qualifying. It was damp at the start, so we used up a bit of the tyre before the track dried up, but we were all in the same boat and just made the most of it.

We then had a race start and a 20-minute session, where we were being judged on our consistency and average lap time. The goal was to put together the fastest average laps over the 20 minutes while staying consistent. It was a little bit damp through the middle of the session but still dry, so it made things interesting.

After that, I had my interview with the Tony Quinn Foundation trustees. It was a great opportunity to tell them more about myself, my goals, my ambitions and everything that comes with my racing.

They then announced the winners and the additional support. Since the result was so close, the Foundation decided to provide me with an additional $20,000 towards my racing, which I’m incredibly grateful for. This isn’t something they normally do, so it means a lot to me.

I honestly can’t thank the whole Tony Quinn Foundation team and trustees enough. A massive thank you to Tony, Josie, Dan, Greg Murphy, John and Steve for everything they have done and for giving me this opportunity.

Also a huge thanks to all the hampton downs girls for making the day run so smoothly, and to all the mechanics for keeping the cars running perfectly throughout the day.

It was a mega day, I learnt so much, took a lot away from the experience and met some awesome new people along the way. I can’t wait to start this journey with the Tony Quinn Foundation team and see where it takes me! 🏁🙌

What an incredible day out at Hampton Downs! 🏁

I’m honestly speechless to have been awarded an additional $20,000 towards my 2027 GR86 Championship campaign from the Tony Quinn Foundation.

I can’t thank Tony Quinn, Josie, Dan and Steve Horne enough for this incredible opportunity and for believing in me. With how close the Shootout was, to receive this additional support means a huge amount to me and my family.

A massive thank you as well to all the mechanics and the girls behind the scenes for making the whole day run so smoothly.

Congratulations to Miles Baker on winning the Shootout and to Blake Dowdall and Riley Boswell as well it was an awesome group to be a part of.

I can’t wait to make the most of this opportunity, get out there in the GR86 and show everyone what I’ve got! 💪🏁

MILES BAKER WINS 2026 TONY QUINN FOUNDATION GR86 SHOOTOUT AS SCOLES EARNS ADDITIONAL SUPPORT 🏆

Congratulations to 14-year-old Miles Baker, who has been crowned the 2026 Shootout winner at Hampton Downs, earning a $54,000 support package for the Bridgestone GR86 Championship!

With so little separating the top two, the Foundation has also awarded Nieko Scoles $20,000 towards his own GR86 Championship campaign.

A huge well done to Blake Dowdall and Riley Boswell too. All four did an outstanding job on and off the track!

We'll see Miles and Nieko on the grid at Taupo International Motorsport Park, 13–15 November 🏁
