Southland’s own Aliyah Dunn is jetting off to join the Netball Super League in the UK.

The gifted sharp shooter has been a remarkable asset for our franchise courtesy of her undeniable skills under the post.

Aliyah made her Steel debut in 2017 as a temporary replacement player and quickly showcased her natural talent, so it’s no wonder she was immediately snapped up by our rivals further north.

We finally enticed her back home to the south for the 2025 ANZ Premiership and she’s been an absolute rockstar for the past two seasons, adding her trademark flair and a staunch hold opposition defenders fear!

The most prolific goal shoot in this year’s league, Aliyah racked up 486 shots from 505 attempts to record a staggering 96.2 percent accuracy.

Now it’s time for a new adventure and we couldn’t be prouder to see her take another step in her sporting career. All the best Aliyah!

Struth! Clearly the Aussie netball recruiters have been flat out like a lizard drinking.

Our energizer bunny Carys Stythe is transforming into a wily fox and joining the Melbourne Vixens for the 2027 Super Netball league.

Equipped with pure hops and oodles of personality, Carys has had a massive impact on our team and our community since venturing south to don the Steel kit two years ago.

Undoubtedly a fan favourite, we have all loved watching Carys, and her netball career, absolutely soar, including her selection in the Silver Ferns for Commonwealth Games golden glory.

The next phase awaits Carys and we know you will smash it! And let’s face it, we can’t wait to watch more hilarity unfold on TikTok!

Midcourt dynamo Kimiora Poi will be unleashing her trademark speed and fierce attacking skills at the Queensland Firebirds during the 2027 Suncorp Super Netball league.

Earning a Commonwealth Games gold medal with the Silver Ferns recently, Kimi is understandably a sought after player as netball recruiting globally is in full swing.

It was always going to be hard to fend off other franchises and there’s no doubt our players are in hot demand.

Kimi has been a fantastic leader since joining our Steel ranks two years ago and we will miss the positive impact she has on and off the court.

Enjoy the exciting new challenge ahead Kimi – the south will always be behind you.

Game faces off. Glam on.

Our 2026 Gala Night at the was the perfect way to celebrate another unforgettable season.

From celebrating our award winners to seeing everyone dressed to impress (seriously... how incredible did everyone look?!), it was a night full of laughter, memories and plenty of reasons to celebrate.

A huge thank you to the team at Ascot Park Hotel for once again hosting such a fantastic evening. The venue looked incredible, the hospitality was second to none, and the food was absolutely delicious. We couldn't ask for a better place to celebrate our season.

A big thank you also to our MC, Nick Jeffrey, for bringing so much energy to the evening and helping make it one to remember.

As we close the chapter on our 2026 season, we simply want to say thank you to our Steel family. To our members, sponsors, volunteers, supporters, partners and everyone who showed up for us throughout the season and at our Gala Night—thank you.
