The first away regatta for the new season was the R2K on Lake Ruataniwha, and gave our club youth rowers a great taste of competitive rowing, against other clubs.

Congratulations to Piper Marshall who achieved 3rd place in the A Final and Bella McRichie-King achieving 2nd place in the B Final of the Girls Under 16 single scull events.

The new rowing season is about to get underway, so if you want to give rowing a try, come join us at our Open Day, 10.00am this Sunday. All welcome.

Super Dirt bagging again this Thursday from 3.00pm.
The weather has not been good for gardening, dropping off our fundraising flyers, or rowing. However large orders are continuing to come in for our bagged super dirt, which is great for our club fundraising efforts.

This is the 60th year of our club's garden fertiliser fundraising event.
It is great to see the participation from our members and supporters, delivering the advertising flyers, bagging fertiliser then delivering it on Saturday mornings. Well done and keep up the good work.👌

For those that have not already heard, there has been a change of date for the bagging of the super dirt at our 815 North Road fertiliser fundraiser depot. The bagging will now take place from 3pm on Wednesday the 19th of August 2026.

The Invercargill Rowing Club hosted the Meridian Long Distance Race on the Oreti River this morning. The rowers experienced a strong outgoing tide with calm, but cloudy weather conditions.

Well done to all those who participated and helped today. Here are a few of the photos taken. I will add more when I receive them.

The end of the 2025/26 regatta season was celebrated on Thursday evening at the Invercargill Rowing Club Awards Event, with a great turnout of members and supporters.

Thank you to guest speaker, George Kempton, for sharing his many years of voluntary involvement with our club and the contributions he has made during that time.

As always, the shared pot luck tea was a sight to behold, with a great selection of yummy food.

Those who received the cups and trophies are listed with the following photos, however there were a few members absent to collect their awards and these were:
- Best performing single - Millie Hackett
- Best perfoming pair - Maddie Diack
- Novice trophy: Fergal Legg
- Outstanding contribution to the club - Ciara Hourston
