It wasn't the 2026 we hoped for but growth, experience and memories were taken from it.

We secured a handful of Podiums, PBs at 3 rounds.
And 2 of the worst weeks I've had with a couple crashes and internal motor parts trying to exit the motor ultimately taking a top 3 challenge away.

But I've been overwhelmed by help and support when needed most in the paddock and leave NZSBK Championship 2026 happy with myself.

Huge thanks to Sloan Frost , Jesse and Andrew Stroud and The notorious Jared love for sorting out the bike and transit for me to race.
Suzuki NZ for the GSX8R. These bikes have serious potential for the Sportbike class, pack a wicked punch and incredibly stable on the brake .

Unfortunately in race 1 we came unstuck on the final corner with a DNF .
No injuries No damage but on a borrowed bike the risk reward for Sunday is not there for the overall points.

NZSBK Championship Friday Practise.

Talk about bangers

After 3 years 5 thousands race KMs and a trip through the gravel last week the engine said no more.
Throwing a Rod going 200kmph+ down the straight, im a very lucky man it happened where it did, and when it did.
That little motor has been an absolute war horse.

Is the weekend over ? Is the championship podium fight over ? Or can the Paddock pull off a collective miracle ......we shall find out soon.

Round 3 NZSBK Championship over and Out

Another weekend of burning up tyre's and gas and what a show it was , the Motofest event was the biggest public turn out I've seen in a decade with some of the best on track battles to

Race 2 P3 Aaron Slight Trophy Race.
A solid start slotting into P3 a missed apex at the hairpin saw Nixon slot through a pull a gap.
Reset the brain a by the last lap we were on the rear tyre again, unfortunately Nixon then got the hairpin wrong and had a spectacular launch out the seat, giving me the P3
Glad your OK buddy !!

Race 3 P4
This time a average start put us back in P5 I pushed throught into 4th at the final corner but the lead pack had already pulled a big gap, put in a couple solid laps and after a couple.front end moments the risk reward wasn't there to bridge the gap and happy to take home good points.

Overall super happy with the weekend dropping 1.3sec off my Person best time here and coming away with some Plasticware at what is likely our last trip to Hampton Downs.

Biggest thanks to Dillon nd Jo for the bike turn around after Friday's mishap you guys always have my back and find time whilst running the Superbike too ❤️
The Durnings for the hospitality at the track, Hoopers and the Kemps its always a pleasure.

After the teams mega effort to get the bike ready to go we lined up front row.
With a 8 lap battle with Jesse Nixon and Cam, good ground work to set off better today for 2 more races.

Mixed day, on Personal Beat pace from early morning , feeling really good so much I thought I best slow down by throwing myself and the bike through the gravel at turn 3.

Burt Munro Challenge / NZSBK Championship Round2

Mixed weekend.
Limited practice due to race format, definitely some positive signs for race pace.

Qualified P3 battling high winds and a busy track.

Race 1 P4 only +0.9 to P1 pace was red hot with top 5 all well under the Supertwin lap record.

Race 2 P4 again wicked race pace with two laps to go a final push to make moves resulted in a couple small mistakes instead putting us out of reach of the podium.

Sunday scrub a gearing and setup change with very encouraging results, however a racing incident on the grid declared our race outside the 60min rerun time, thankful to get away but thoughts to those involved as their wellbeing definitely the significance.

Overall happy the bike and my riding, finding confidence on the edge of the tyre, lowering our PB by over 1sec and 1.8sec off last year's event.

Sitting P3 in the championship, despite the west coast postcode we now boast rounds 3 & 4 are the home tracks.
