You’ve heard the pop… but what’s actually happening? 👀
That ‘pop’ or ‘crack’ you sometimes hear during an adjustment is called cavitation, a change in pressure within the joint that causes gas to rapidly release from the joint fluid.
But here’s the important part: the pop isn’t the purpose of the adjustment.
Chiropractic adjustments may be used to help improve joint movement, reduce stiffness and support how your body moves and functions, and sometimes they make a sound, sometimes they don’t.
And adjustments are only one part of what we do at Back2Normal. Depending on what you need, your treatment may also include soft tissue work, mobility and movement strategies, rehabilitation exercises and advice to help address what may be contributing to the problem.
So yes, the pops can be satisfying 😏 But there’s a lot more happening behind the scenes.
