Northampton Canal Spring League

This has attracted 16 teams of four plus individuals which is a great turn out for this time of year. This venue is a very difficult canal at the best of times but on the day the fish have come early or late which has consisted of Roach, Skimmers and Perch a good weight on the day has been 2-4lb and with the framing weights being between 7-12lb. Matrix Image had 2 teams in this league this year and on the day Matrix Image White came 3rd and Matrix Image Black came 7th suffering from a couple of bad pegs which was costly.

Lately Matrix Image have fished rounds 1, 2 and 3 of the EMWL, the fishing has been exceptional with 20lb, 30lb and 40lb weights of roach and skimmers. This past Sunday was round 3 which was pegged at Benwick, March Bypass and the Bower in Whittlesey. Tackle and Bates won the day with 20 points, 2nd was Peterborough on 31 points, 3rd was Hotrods on 41 points which went down to section wins and Image was 4th with 41 points. Overall in the league Peterborough and Tackle Bates are joint 1st with 5 points Hotrods are 3rd with 10 points and Image are 4th with 11 points. Round 4 is this coming Sunday on the same venues.

The team have been busy over the last few months competing in the Sensas Tackle Up league on the GUC, so far we have fished 5 rounds and the Red team are winning the league on 130 points with Bordon in 2nd place on 117 points and the Blue team are in 4th place on 99 points.

This year the canal has fished really well with plenty of skimmers and lots of roach being caught in all sections and the final round is this coming Sunday.

The team also fished the Division 1 National on the river Avon which was really difficult fishing for most in the match but the team came a more than respectable 8th overall out of 45 teams.
