I’ve decided that I’m spending too much time on social media. Who knew!!!

So whilst I find it super valuable for communicating / sharing snippets of info and details on my classes etc I am just going to run my Instagram account from now on.

If you want to continue to follow please have a look over at Instagram -

Would love to see you there!

Much love

Time to let go…. 🐍

I had the snake drawn on me a few years ago signifying strength but also the idea of transformation and the ability to shed a skin.

I think I personally still find it hard to shed a skin. Particularly, to let go of the ideas and stories we build up in our heads of what life would be.

What’s all this pressure we put ourselves under to be the thing we think society expects us to be?

So I decided to remind myself of that every day. It’s time to let go of what you thought might happen Luce. It’s time to actually just be here now, living the beautiful life you did create.

I also thought the snake was sometimes a little lonely and needed to be held. The lines and the detail do that for him as maybe they do for me too.

Life isn’t always easy. It doesn’t always turn out the way you plan. But you are strong and you will always be ok.

you got the brief. In so so many ways. Thank you so much for this - you’ve made my arm very happy ! And me 😂❤️

Medal Monday 🥇

Ramsbury Gold 10km trail run.
It was hot and it was hilly but it was a stunning route. A fabulous 1km decent into a valley, some lovely undulating roads and tracks ending with a well needed shady tree covered single track and then a little 1km uphill final push to the finish line 🫶🏼🙌🏼

The hills were long and hot but I was delighted just to be able to be out running with such a friendly field and on such a beautiful day!

55mins and 6th for my age - I’ll take that 😊

Thanks and 🏆 super well organised 👏🏻

Back to foundations.
To your feet.
To your connection with the ground.

Philosophically.
And anatomically.
The base of everything we do.

From a training point of view your feet and ankles are pretty much involved in most things. Steady stance makes better lifting, steady steps make better running, steady push drives your cycling.

Yoga is slower, but that’s the gift.
Use it to find your super power in all the other things.
And secretly it just might just steady your mind a little too 💙

A little reminder to pause ⏸️

Sometime this week.
Take a few moments.
Just to sit.
To breathe.
And to just be 💜

It might feel naughty.
It might feel unproductive.
But it’s probably just what you need.

Keep it varied…..

I’ve been mainly cycling recently.
But last week I had the chance to run again a few times.

Staying up in a hotel, for my corporate job, there’s always space to pack my trainers and a run kit. There’s always time for a little morning run.

Movement is movement. It doesn’t need to be huge and grand and over complicated.

Keep it simple. Keep it consistent. Keep it going.

Be who you are.
All of it.
Never change that.

I’m passionate. About those things I chose.
There is a very soft, vulnerable side to me inside but externally I’m full of all of the energy of a Duracell bunny!

I’m fiercely excited and energised about life.
I also sometimes need someone to hold my hand.

Find what excites you. Throw yourself into it. And be you. Every single part of you. ❤️

One of those weeks….🖤

Out of all the comfy paces to sit, Rupes curled up to me on the kitchen floor so this is where we stay.

Poor guy has been through it this week having investigations for elbow dysplasia.

It makes me reflect, back to my stress fracture diagnosis. Not quite knowing what’s next and what recovery looks like.

The joy of being a dog is you have no clue!!! It’s super hard not being able to talk to him about it, but equally is that not knowing actually quite freeing?

I’ve been adamant I want to know every detail and to make the best plan of recovery for him.

Do we always need to know the exact plan?
Do we just need to pause, to gather some info and then to decide?
Do we just need to go with the flow?
Can we release a little control here?
Who knows the right or wrong answer.

Right now it’s to sit on the kitchen floor and let him snore his head off in my lap ❤️🖤

This week you’ll mostly find me recovering…..

A de-load week.
Physically, our bodies need a break.

I’ve been training mine super hard recently.
I do always have a rest day but I’ve had more double training days. I’ve been pushing the miles on the bike and the weights in the gym. I’ve been trying to do it all.

My last two sessions I’ve been tired. I can feel it. It’s not less enthusiasm. It’s just my body hurts.

A de-load week is essential for all good athletes. It doesn’t mean do nothing. But it does mean dial down the intensity.

Find a slower pace.
Go for a walk instead of a run.
Find a spot and sit.
Watch the world go buy.
Sleep in a little.

And then next week come back. And hit it hard again. If you’re ready!

Nearly 2 years ⛔️ 🍺

These pics taken just shy of two years apart.
On 23rd July I will hit two years of not drinking.
The photos might not look hugely different but how I am - how I act and how I feel really are.

What have I done in those two years:
Eaten far more cake.
Seen many more sunrises.
Tackled sober dating, sober weddings, hen do’s and birthday parties.
Joined a group holiday knowing no one.
Danced on tables in a bar.
Been to live music events.
Moved house and across the country.
Started a new job.
Got stronger, lost weight.
Got to know the real me through another stint of therapy - but this time really did the work.
Discovered the good AF beers and wines.
Loved myself more. Loved others more.
Felt the feelings instead of drowned the feelings.
Laughed a lot. At myself. With others.
Found genuine deeper connections.
Remembered a night out.
Hydrated my skin (and then embraced the wrinkles anyway).
And then probably eaten more cake or ice cream too!

Nowadays I’m not the last one at the party. I love a French exit and being in bed at 10pm. I’m ok with that. I don’t feel like I’m missing out when I look at the list of what I’ve gained.

If you’re sober curious and want a chat about how, why and when I did it, message me.
❤️
