The moment you realise that it’s possible to lose fat WITHOUT tracking calories 😱
The ONLY way to lose body fat is to create a calorie deficit and place yourself into a negative energy balance.
Personally, I’m a fan of using tracking devices for a period of time to monitor calories, especially for new clients
It’s important to know where your calories are coming from
Not all foods are created equal when it comes to nutrition and some foods will leave you feeling fuller for longer than others
While counting calories can be an effective way to have an awareness around nutrition and help create a negative energy balance to lose body fat, I appreciate it’s not for everyone and there are other tools at our disposal which still focus on other strategies that support CICO that might be more effective for some people
If you feel this relates to you, then follow these simple steps to help you stay on track toward your fat-loss goals.
1️⃣ Use smaller plates to help keep portion size under control
2️⃣ Eat more protein to help increase satiety, leading to reduced hunger
3️⃣ Choose high volume foods with less calories and more fibre such as vegetables and fruits
4️⃣ Make the bulk of your food choices from whole sources, minimising higher
processed foods that can lead to increased calories without the satiety
5️⃣ Increase your activity levels with regards to NEAT to entice more calories burned and resistance training to help maintain a muscle mass.
