Does this make him an event horse now 🤣🤣

Sweep has completed his first ever ODE and we finished with the beat score of a big E 🤣🤣

Went went today to for Sweeps first ever ODE. I couldnt be more proud, The best Big E ever 🤣🤣

First up dressage, finished on a score of 33, not bad for only his 2nd time inside board.

2nd was show jumping again only his 2nd time jumping a course at a competition, we had the first down as we hadnt got our canter and I should have turned a circle but the nerves got the better of me, and a refusal at the wavey planks again, I didnt prepare enough and should have trotted to them.but we learn and move onto the next one.

Last up XC bearing in mind, my dressage was 9am sj 9.35 and XC 10am everything came round very quick sweep was starting to tire a little and lost a bit of concentration, I was nervous of jump 3 and 4 as they were big 70cm houses. I knew this XC was a big ask but I didnt go with any expectations so we skipped 3 and 4 to make a it a good experiance (hence the E) and he loved it, a little napping at 12 as it was next to the start box but 13, 14 15 16 we were on fire and finished on a massive high 🤣🤣

I couldnt be more proud for taking it all in and cracking on, dare I say he was fairly relaxed as well. Thankyou so much Robyn for coming with me and being cheif Oliver sitter clearly a Day eventing was to much for him 🤣🤣 I couldnt have done it without you.

What an absolute Dude!!!!

So happy with sweep today, not only has he completed his first ever hunter trial, he completed his first ever competition.

To say I was slightly nervous when we arrived is an understatment, so much going on that he has never seen before, he grew 5ft (he is already huge 🤣) I thought he may explode once we got on.

We walked down to the warm up area and he was so on his toes I could feel him wanted to just explode underneath me. we had a trot round and a little pop over a couple of warm up jumps and then we went off.

Over the first and I think he understood the assignment, he was on it latching on to the next jump each time (if you can call 40cm a jump to him 🤣)

We went clear round and we were so happy we did it a second time and as the video shows, he knew what was coming this time 🤣 let out a couple of leaps in excitement and off he cracked round we went for a 2nd time clear 😍😍

So pleased with him and thankyou so much for letting me follow, I knew you would enjoy it once we were there, you helped so much to get rid of some nerves 🤣🤣

Pleased with myself and Sweep today, 30mph winds and we managed to ride.
Admittidly only walk but we lunged first. He didnt put a foot wrong and considering how sensitive he can be im very pleased as that would have been a good excuse to explode ❤️

Had a really good lesson this morning with working on Keeping him straight on the short sides.

My first time riding him away from home since falling off and I came away feeling confident and ready for next time. Fingers crossed we will try a little jump next time

Some days don't always go to plan especially with a young horse.

He started sooo well came of the box chilled, the most calm he has been at a new venue wasn't tense no arched back. we got cracking on and started adding some fillers Into a course, didn't bat an eye lid wavey planks no problem. And I actually rode to them this time 😅

Then about 5 minutes from the end after jumping the bridge I gathered my reins about 3 strides after and sent him into a panic causing me to fall off and land on the lip of the menage.

Very winded and a trip to a&e to get checked out and we are all good just bruised. We will be back another day to tackle it, just sometime get complacent as to how far we have come and that little demon comes back out again.

Thanks to .d.march for sorting Sweep out and susanna for helping me and for looking after Oliver whilst we went to hospital.

What a dude....

Another outing under our belt, all good experience, leaving other horses having horses cantering past in open spaces. And XC fences for the first time ever....

I went with little expectation other than see what happened, and he blew me away.

Thankyou so much VB Eventing - Victoria Bax UKCC Level 2 British Eventing Accredited Coach for such a confidence giving lesson. We started out on the baby baby course and soon moved round to the middle course. He jumped everything that was asked when I actually rode him and held his hand.

Unfortunately Oliver didn't want to go to the bigger course and decided he needed to go back to the car so no pics of the bigger course. But this horse just makes me so proud knowing where we came from this time last year.

Thankyou James for coming with and baby sitting to make this possible 🥰

Couldn't be prouder of both boys.

Star of the show though, Sweep let me catch Kenny when he walked off in the wrong direction back towards home (only at walk may I add) let me get off to lead Alfie and let me get on using a stone wall ( we have never dismounted and mounted on a hack before)

And finally let me ride and lead with Kenny on the way home.

He acted so grown up, minus a bit of spooking and just went with the flow.

(we did have james on foot but he was behind us 😆😆) proud of James Oddball March for walking 8k

Last day at camp, back out with his buddies in the feild tonight.

What a ride he gave me this morning, we have officially jumped our first course of jumps confidently and smoothly.

I cannot be more proud of how well he has coped with this whole week. He has taken everything in his stride and came put fresh and happy this morning. I think I under estimate how fit he is 🤣🤣

Thankyou to all the instructors and organisers for make me on cloud 9. I cant wait to get back out there now.

What an awesome Boy Sweep was yestarday, Grid work in the morning (always the over achiever 🤣) followed by learning a double in the afternoon.

He was so up for it and enjoying it, starting to understand what was being asked of him.

He was a bit on his toes when we arrived but soon settled in and had a cracking lesson. So much learnt and so much to work on.

Can't wait for camp and our next lesson.
