South East Technological University (SETU) has expanded its specialist treadmill facilities with another h/p/cosmos mercury med, supplied and installed by HaB Direct.

Replacing an older Woodway treadmill, the new mercury med will operate alongside SETU’s existing model, helping staff maintain consistency across practical teaching, performance testing and research.

Although the treadmill platform is already familiar to the team, the latest system features the newer MCU6 UserTerminal, offering updated touchscreen controls, programmable exercise profiles, data storage and compatibility with suitable ECG, CPET, EMG and blood pressure systems.

This installation continues our relationship with SETU, following the addition of an h/p/cosmos pluto med at SETU Waterford in 2025.

A specialist treadmill installation for a specialist research environment. 🏃‍♂️🧑‍🦽‍➡️

HaB Direct recently supplied and installed an h/p/cosmos saturn 300/125r at Dublin City University. With its oversized 300 cm by 125 cm running surface, the treadmill can accommodate wheelchairs and cycles while also supporting running, biomechanics and performance-testing applications.

The project involved far more than delivering the equipment. To reach DCU’s new laboratory, the treadmill had to be carefully dismantled, carried upstairs and reassembled by our experienced installation team. Specialist flooring was also installed around the system, while its bespoke matt-black finish helps to minimise reflections within the motion capture environment.
