🏁 Team Evo at Nene Valley – NitroXCross Championship Rounds 5 & 6 🏁
What a weekend for Team Evo! 💪🔥
Last weekend, Team Evo headed to Nene Valley for Rounds 5 and 6 of the NitroXCross Championship. After heavy rain on Saturday morning, it looked like racing might not happen at all, but thankfully the weather cleared just in time and we were treated to a fantastic day of racing.
🚗 Saturday Highlights
The D Final turned into an Evo Junior Academy showcase, with all of our juniors delivering outstanding performances.
🥈 George Williams led for most of the race but was unfortunately denied the win on the final corner, finishing a well-deserved 2nd.
🔧 Buster Jones battled through a tyre change during the race to finish 5th.
👏 Jack and Lewis both drove brilliantly to secure 7th and 8th places.
In the B Final, Jamie and Kev put on a great battle throughout the race.
🏁 Jamie brought his Kyosho home in 4th place.
⬆️ Kev finished 3rd, earning a bump-up into his first-ever Nitro A Final, where he went on to finish an impressive 8th overall.
⚡ In E-Buggy, Dan dominated the B Final, taking victory in both legs in commanding style.
☀️ Sunday Action
With much better weather and a great atmosphere around the track, Sunday got underway with George on pole in the D Final, Jack starting 2nd, and Buster lining up 4th.
Unfortunately, George suffered a flywheel issue during the warm-up lap. Despite a frantic repair effort getting him back on track, he had to start two minutes behind the field.
Meanwhile, Buster produced the drive of his life, charging into the lead. Jack’s race ended early due to a radio failure, while George fought his way back into 2nd place, gaining around two seconds per lap on the leader before mechanical issues forced his retirement.
🏆 The highlight of the day came when Buster crossed the line to take the win and secure his first well-deserved bump-up!
The C Final saw Buster continue his strong form, finishing 6th after starting 12th on the grid.
⭐ Lewis also impressed, bringing his car home in 7th place and showing huge potential for the future.
In the B Final, Kev and Jamie renewed their rivalry once again.
❌ Kev unfortunately retired with a breakage.
✅ Jamie drove a solid race to finish 5th.
⚡ Dan qualified directly into the E-Buggy A Main after another excellent performance, but unfortunately his weekend ended with a DNF in the final.
👏 Overall, it was a fantastic weekend for Team Evo both on and off the track. The team showed incredible pace, determination, resilience, and sportsmanship throughout, with plenty of great results and memorable moments to celebrate.
