Lusty SLSC

Lusty SLSC L***y Surf Life Saving Club is based at L***y Glaze beach and Porth beach, Newquay. L***y Surf Life Saving Club is a non profit-making charitable operation.

Our main aims can easily be separated into 2 sectors

1) Life Saving skills - All of our members receive up-to-date first aid training, ranging from basic life support like CPR and treating burns, across the board to protocols for incidents involving Oxygen, defibrillators and spinal boards. These skills are channelled through our members in fun training that is geared around the beach lifeguardin

g culture to prepare everyone to be ambassadors for beach safety and awareness...regardless of age.

2) Competition - Because of our close links to surf life saving there is a requirement for all members to maintain, or develop, a level of fitness through physical training to be safe in the sea and promote healthy living. Many members who particularly enjoy, or excel, in this area will be actively encouraged to represent the club in competition; be it on a local or national level. All members and staff at L***y SLSC offer their continued support, expertise and time as volunteers

It was just the dolphins on the beach this morning as the nippers have gone to the Max Hocking event in Hayle. Lots of fun was had in rock pools over Whipsy way, well done to Kit for getting the dolphin of the week award.

Nippers worked hard this morning- golden nipper, board relay and sprints. All of group 2 tried the golden nippers and smashed it. Group 1 learnt lots of new rules and group 3 did a massive course 💪 💚 💛 NOTW were Sebi, Jessica, Matilda and Arya (welcome back❤️)

Tuesday 9th June - Taplin / board rescue
Perranporth 17th June - races TBC
Races were in comp ages and then the Taplin in mixed teams.
Other events Rock up and races - 5th, 12th and more in July no L***y representation yet
Need to be able to get own equipment to the beach - dependent on races.
