We offer ISA (International Surfing Association) surf coaching level 1 and 2 accreditations and also the ISA contest surf judging award. If you would like a job on the beach working in the best natural environment there is and earning a living out of your passion then Surf Coach Academy can get you qualified to get you on your career pathway.

ISA surf coach courses Autumn Series for 2026 coming up. Online format.Jpin remotely via Zoom.
Get qualified for the end of season here in the UK/ Europe or looking to work overseas this winter. The ISA awards are Internationally recognised and open up lots of opportunities to work globally 🌎
The level 1 is the entry point qualification required to teach beginners and the industry standard for working in surf schools worldwide.
Level 2 course also on offer if you want to upgrade your current level 1 and gain a higher qualification and develop your knowledge to coach intermediate and advanced level surfers.

ISA level 1 course completed over the weekend 1-2 August. Last course of the summer. Little break now then Autumn courses get underway again in mid September.
Online format course using Zoom for interactive classes. Students able to join remotely , giving access and opportunity for students from many regions the ability to get education and instructor training and ISA qualifications.

Where my surf coaching journey began. 32 years ago. Summer of 94. British Surfing Association surf school at Fistral beach, Newquay, Cornwall.
Few pics from the archives pre digital era. 😁
Surf schools and surf coaching was a very small industry back then.There were only 2 surf schools in Newquay at that time. BSA at Fistral and Offshore at Tolcarne beach.
Surfing 🏄‍♂️ has developed a lot since then and the world has changed and life moves on.
I now focus my coaching on training the coaches and delivering ISA surf courses. Passing on my years of knowledge and experience. The journey continues.

ISA level 2 completed over the weekend 17-19 April.
Online format course programme.
The L2 course covers a range of surfing specific technical modules and sports science including Biomechanics physical prep, nutrition, sports psychology, planning, simulation training.
Manouvre analysis and technique breakdown being the biggest take away and really enjoyed again by the students with workshops and analysing each others surfing performance with pre supplied video footage.
In-depth course and taking surf coaching to the next level.

A very European flavour of students joining from England🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Germany 🇩🇪 Netherlands 🇳🇱 and Italy 🇮🇹
An awesome group of experienced coaches who gave excellent input and contribution. 💯

The group will now go on to complete their post course assignments and training plans.📚
