Our mechanics had another brilliant day delivering the third instalment of our Dr Bike series, this time at Ebrington Primary School. ⚙️👨‍🔧

Our team were on hand to carry out bike repairs and safety checks on everything from balance bikes to BMX.

By repairing and reusing bikes, we're extending their lifespan whilst also encouraging young people to see the value in fixing things rather than replacing them! ♻️

A huge thank you to Derry City & Strabane District Council for the continued support and partnership which makes these sessions possible. Together, we're helping more children stay active and keeping bikes out of landfill. 🚴‍♀️🌍

We kicked off Reuse and Repair Week 2026 in style! 🚲

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our free community bicycle repairs session and helped make the day such a success.

It was fantastic to see so many people taking part in our reuse initiative by getting their bikes checked over and ready for the road!

A special thank you to our amazing volunteers and mechanics for sharing their time and expertise, and to the superstars at NIRN - Northern Ireland Resources Network for helping us deliver this event. ♻️

Before throwing something away, ask yourself - can it be repaired, reused, shared, or given a second life?

✅This week, challenge yourself to repair one item, donate something you no longer need, or learn a new repair skill. Every item kept in use for longer helps reduce our environmental impact.
🚲Got bikes that the kids have out grown? Life Cycles can refurbish the bike and make sure they go to good homes.
🫟 Got any unused paint at home? Repair & Share Foyle can reuse the paint through Legenderry Colours, meaning that nothing goes to waste.
Drop items off at Pennyburn Recycling Centre.

We’re delighted to have donated a selection of refurbished scooters to Good Shepherd Primary & Nursery School, Derry. 🛴✨

If you have an old scooter at home, don’t throw it away! Drop it off at Pennyburn Recycling Centre and, with support from Derry City & Strabane District Council, our team will give it a new lease of life so that even more children can enjoy it. 💚♻️

Our mechanics had a fantastic day at Knockavoe School running the second instalment of our Dr Bike series! 🚲🔧

The Life Cycles team helped students get their bikes road-ready again with repairs and safety checks, diverting them from landfill and making sure plenty more play can be had!

A huge thank you as always to Derry City & Strabane District Council for this collaborative opportunity to show kids that when something breaks, it doesn't always need replaced. ♻️
