The Emerging Warriors have named their XI for Thursdays clash against MCC, with a talented group of young players set to test themselves against one of cricket’s most historic sides.

Led by Sam Haslett, the squad features plenty of exciting emerging talent as they look to make the most of a fantastic opportunity.

Best of luck to the entire squad. πŸ‘

🏏 U13 Girls' Cricket 🏏

The U13s enjoyed a great day out at the NWCU cricket blitz.

Our team was a mixture of experienced cricketers and newbies! For some of the team, it was their first experience of bowling an over or first time scoring a four. We also had Darci scoring her first six!

Thank you to North West Cricket Union for hosting this brilliant event.

🏏 The U15 Girls travelled ( yes, yet another away day!) to Sullivan Upper to play in the U15 Girls' Semi-final but unfortunately came away with a disappointing defeat. It started well enough as Foyle dismissed the hosts for 99 with a number of good bowling performances. Holly McClintock took 3-11, Leah Thompson picked up 2-21, Molly Buchanan bagged 2-16 and Darci Young also took 1- 14. So far so good.

However after the early promise came the batting demise as none of the side were able to build an innings and the visitors were unable to challenge the total. Nevertheless the girls have played some good cricket this season and there is a quick chance for revenge as the U19s take on Sullivan ( away!!!) on Thursday. Thanks to Mr and Mrs Balmer for all their assistance today! 🏏

🏏 Today the U14s travelled to Friends School, Lisburn to play the Semi-final of the U14 Plate competition! The visitors batted first and posted a healthy 125-6 off their 20 overs. Top scorer was Alfie Coyle with 51 and he was ably supported by Levi Beck and Toby Gamble with 15 and 25 respectively. Friends were unable to get close in their response due to an excellent bowling by the entire Foyle quintet! Harry Mowbray picked up 4-20, Alfie Coyle 2-6, Dylan Adair 1-2, Ethan Robinson 1-6 and Toby Gamble 1-11.
Overall a brilliant team display from the U14s who proceed to the Plate Final. Well done to all of the squad and their coach, Mr Stewart! πŸ‘πŸ

🏏 Today the U15s travelled to Roughfort to take on B.R.A. in the Quarter-Finals of the U15 Schools' Cup. The fixture has been postponed on frequent occasions over the last few weeks due to weather and when the match finally got under way under leaden skies and with blustery showers around hopes of an uninterrupted match were not high.
However the match was completed although Foyle came up short by 38 runs to bow out.

B.R.A. batted first and raced to 81-1 off 9 overs before the Foyle bowling attack pegged them back with accuracy and guile. Toby Gamble picked up three wickets and there was a brace for Alfie Coyle and Daniel Witherow. Having bowled the hosts out for 112, Foyle set about the chase in positive fashion and Ben Campbell struck three boundaries in the first two overs. His dismissal led to a batting decline and despite some good hitting from Gamble the visitors were unable to reach the target. Once again the boys acquitted themselves impeccably both on and off the field. 🏏

πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Sports Day 2026 πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

On a day of showers with scattered sunshine, our pupils demonstrated true resilience and determination, competing in soggy and challenging conditions.

The weather did little to dampen their competitive spirit however, with pupils giving their all to earn valuable points for their house.

🏏 A bowl-out over Facetime was not the way that the U19 Girls thought that their Quarter-Final tie with Methodist College, Belfast would be completed but after countless weather postponements that was the reality. Fortunately Foyle won the bowl out 3-2 with Jodie, Molly and Holly all hitting the stumps. Well done to the girls involved! πŸ‘πŸ‘ An away Semi-final to Sullivan Upper now lies in wait. We hope for some sunshine! 🏏
