๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ“ธ Innishboffin group of islands! ๐ŸŒค๏ธ๐Ÿš

Our Sunday paddle lived up to expectations with some amazing sights to behold!

We were greedy - not because we had two lunches but because we decided to also bag the furthest island Innishbeg before enjoying the jewel of the crown - Innishdooey! Our pictures and videos do not do it justice but are locked now firmly in our memories; including an almost hidden entrance that opened up into a secret garden of caves and arches.

Our first lunch was on Innishboffin beside the pier where we could look over to the mainland and see the 7 sisters in all their glory.

We landed on a steep storm beach on Innishdooey for our second much deserved lunch.

On the way back we landed on the eastern sand beach of Innisboffin and walked up to its highest point to take in the entire panoramic view of all the islands, including Tory (see you soon!๐Ÿคž) before the hard slog home.

Paddlesport Safety and Rescue Course (PSRC)๐Ÿ›Ÿ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒž

Last week some of our club members took on Paddlesport Safety & Rescue training to up skill themselves in preparation for leadership assessments, volunteering/assisting with club sessions and events.

This is a certified course which provides reassurance when venturing out onto the water, as it focuses on empowering individuals with essential safety skills.

They practiced a range of rescues and safety skills such as; towing, rescues, unconscious rescues, self rescue, equipment management, safety protocols and injured kayaker scenarios,

Well done to all that completed it!

to our January snowy winter paddle on the Mourne! Our get in was just above the Iron Bridge. Our group then headed downstream towards the Fisheries which had a lovely layer of snow, making it even more scenic. Plenty of work on breaking in/out of eddies and a bit of surfing on/across all the features. Definitely needed our extra layers and plenty of warm drinks at lunch โ˜ƒ๏ธโ˜•๏ธโ„๏ธ
