We aren't going to put it here online, but there's a beautiful little-known cove (pictured) not far from Treworgey that we really love for wild swimming, or for older kids to play at jumping off rocks. It's a bit of a walk from the car park, and not ideal for small children, but fantastic once they're swimming confidently.

We have the answer! Annie's Cottage (sleeps two, or three with a folding bed) is two fields away from the main Treworgey site. Surrounded by gardens and an orchard, with a semi-private pool (shared with the owners who will gladly work around your timings). Dog-friendly, with a private garden and recently renovated, Annie's is a rare chance for total peace in the Cornish countryside in the middle of August.

When the summer holidays hit, Cornwall can get busy. But there are some fantastic beaches that never get too busy, because the walks down to them put the majority off. For us, the walk is often a beautiful and satisfying part of a trip to the beach - so long as you're able and can carry any very small people without the need for a pram!

Our bigger cottages are all booked for the summer holidays but we have some one bedroom cottage vacancies, and these cottages almost all have space
for a full-size folding single bed for a child, plus a cot.
One of them (Orchard Cottage) has space for two folding beds in the conservatory (full-curtained), so can sleep four!
