People often ask me what it's like training clients who are starting from scratch, especially those who haven't exercised in years.

Honestly? It's my favourite thing.

Because the transformation isn't just physical. It's the confidence that builds. The way someone carries themselves differently after a few weeks. The moment they stop saying "I can't do this" and start saying "what's next?"

That's what gets me every single time.

HiπŸ‘‹ In case you're new here, we're Julie and Darren, the husband and wife team behind Body Architects Cornwall.

We're based in Looe and we've spent years helping people across Cornwall and Kent to get fitter, stronger, and more confident in their bodies.

Between us we cover personal training, group fitness & sports massage, but honestly, what gets us up in the morning is something simpler than that.

It's the moment someone walks into their first class terrified… and leaves with a massive smile.

It's the client who said they'd "never be able to do that" and then does it.

It's the group of people who came as strangers and are now proper mates.

Feeling tired all the time? Before you blame your age check this list. πŸ‘‡

Most energy problems over 40 come down to a few simple things:

πŸ₯© Not enough protein
Your body needs more protein as you age to maintain muscle and keep energy stable. Aim for protein at every single meal.

🩸 Blood sugar crashes
Eating lots of refined carbs without protein or fat causes energy spikes and crashes. You feel great, then awful, then reach for sugar. It's a cycle.

πŸ’§ Mild dehydration
Even being slightly dehydrated causes fatigue, brain fog and low mood. Most people don't drink nearly enough water.

β˜€οΈ Low Vitamin D
Hugely common in the UK, and a major driver of fatigue, low mood and poor immunity. Worth getting checked.

πŸƒ Sedentary stretches
Counterintuitively, sitting still for hours drains energy. Movement creates energy. Even a 10 minute walk changes everything.
