You already know what to do.

This client did too.

He’d run… too many marathons to count,

Trained in the gym - consistently,

Even ate pretty well too.

Yet,

He’s set PB after PB,

Dropped over 10kg,

Built a chunk of muscle,

And gotten a LOT stronger.

Despite spending the same amount of time running/training,

Throughout his 1:1 coaching so far,

The truth is,

There’s often more to training & nutrition,

Than there first looks.

It’s not that you’re missing a magic formula,

But the day to day strategies for nutrition,

The tweaks you make to technique and how your training is structured.

They all add up,

And that shows up how you look, feel and perform, not just in runs,

But in day to day life.

Getting back into the swing of things 🏌️

Weight has gone from 2.6kg up,

Down 1.6kg,

Down another 1kg

And right back to where it was pre holiday,

Now time to crack on to 72kg 🎯

Tried the local gym kit,

Parked 3 space as from anyone,

Near empty car park,

15 minutes later, this 😂

The time passes anyway ⏳2 months on from this long weekend in Spain,And 5kg down. Since then? A stag do, Multiple meals ...

The time passes anyway ⏳

2 months on from this long weekend in Spain,

And 5kg down.

Since then?

A stag do,

Multiple meals out,

Weekends spent with family.

Seeing my 2 friends.

(Doubling up on last years numbers there)

It’s been a really busy couple of months socially…

Yet,

This weight loss phase has felt easy so far,

Because I’ve made it simple.

Breakfasts & lunches on repeat,

With more flexibility around dinners.

Dropping weight at a pace,

That’s fast enough to keep me motivated,

Without being on calories which make me miserable.

And just cracking on with everything else as normal…

And those 2 months have flown by.

Another 2?

And I’ll be finished this phase and calories will be right back up again.

If I’d waited for things to “settle down”

I’d be 5 months into the year,

With nothing to show for it… 🤷‍♂️

Are you making weight loss harder than it needs to be?

It shouldn’t come at the cost of not being able to do things you enjoy,

Or just might mean,

That not every single social occasion has to revolve around food and drinks as heavily.

Your friends probably aren’t allergic to doing something a little more active,

Especially when the suns shining ☀️

Still trying to white knuckle your way through weight loss? 🧗

Taking your diet exactly as it was before,

And cutting your portions in half,

Is NOT going to do the job.

If you don’t look down at your plate,

And feel like what’s in front of you is going to be enough to keep you full,

It likely won’t be.

As you shift to weight loss,

Your choices around food need to shift,

So that you can minimise hunger,

And make the whole process easier for yourself.

About this week… 📸

A big training week,

If my resting heart rate and how fit I feel is anything to go by,

Hitting 3-4 bits of cardio a week is paying off hugely,

Gym ticked off 3 times,

A chilled weekend with a couple of walks in & around Peebles in the sun,

Might need factor 75 but you can’t beat a sunny weekend ☀️

Probably didn’t eat enough chicken & pesto pasta though 🤥
