You may have heard murmurings that we have some super cool aerial workshops coming to freebird in April... well, they were true 🥳 and we now have full details and bookings open for these 3 amazing workshops with the fantastical Freya Pellie !

Check the schedule for full details on each one including pre-requisites, more descriptions of what's included, how to pay, and some discounts for folks that want to book into more than one workshop! Woohoo!
You just know it's going to be a good time when one disclaimer reads: "flares are so insanely satisfying to teach and I will clap and whoop like a happy sea lion when you nail a new one."

We are also super excited to be welcoming Nicole regularly to the timetable!
Nicole is an amazing poler, mover, human and long time friend and runs in Perth too! But we are also lucky enough to benefit from her wealth of experience as she takes on our uni societies class, and our regular Intermediate pole class on a Wednesday and shares spin pole on Wednesdays with Jenny, starting next week!

She will also be taking a choreo (and the pole class before it) every second Friday of the month starting in February on the 13th! We are so excited to get to move with her on the regs!

Ready to try pole choreo? After our popular course last year, this is now a regular class for new (or existing!) dancers, so once you have a few regular pole classes under your belt and if you want to add some extra pizzazz to your practice... here's where we'll hone the skills of pole choreo- learning a routine at a gentler pace to our regular weekday choreo classes for more experienced dancers.
We will spend more time on technique and going through the routine for everyone to feel comfortable!
Aimed at beginner dancers and dancers at any level who would like more time to go through the steps and learn at a gentler pace!
We LOVE dancing with everyone, it is so much fun to dance with your pals! No heels necessary, you can dance in socks, but most routines will require kneepads. We have some spares at the studio if you'd like to try it out first before purchasing your own!

We have more choreo options than ever now on the schedule (see our next post too 😍) and we're adding a regular Hoop Choreo into the mix, Saturdays at 2pm!

Here you will learn a short routine in and around the hoop to music. Get into the flow, learn to link things seamlessly making use of your learned hoop, but also just getting comfortable moving with the music in new interesting ways! Suitable for improver level hoopers and up, and available with all class packs and memberships!
This class will be shared on a week to week basis by Belle and Tara , with Belle kicking us off this Saturday 31st!

We have a single space left on our beginners silks course starting Sunday the 1st Feb at 7.30pm- which will open to anyone tomorrow morning as currently reserved for members to have first dibs!

Beginner blocks are essential to attend our drop in classes at the studio so make a start here! Tara will be taking you all through the fundamental skills required to get comfortable in the silks, learning just how to use the beautiful fabric to defy gravity and making some beautiful shapes along the way!

Next bit of newness- a DAYTIME Pole Beginners course! Starts 🌟 Tuesday 3rd February 🌟at 10am and runs for 4 weeks initially.
Join our lovely instructor Grace ( we promise she is actually anything but grumbly haha) who will take you through the fundamentals, learning spins, holds, sits and climbs to start building strength and confidence on and around the pole! Again no strength, fitness or flexibility levels required, we welcome anyone with a willingness to give it a shot and have fun!

All you need are shorts and tshirt and we have everything else you need! Book via our website to grab your space now, and if you are part of one of our uni societies you can even make use of our new starts discount course ticket! Take a look at the schedule for more info and booking!

We have so many new things to bring to you this month! Kicking off with a brand new beginners aerial hoop course with our fantastical , starting 🌟 Saturday 31st January🌟 at 3.15pm for an initial 4 week block!

Learn to find your way into the hoop, make some beautiful shapes and link things together in the air. No experience, strength or flexibility required to get started and our hoops are all height adjustable so we can cater for everyone!

All you need are some leggings/joggers and a tshirt and you're good to go, we have everything else covered 🥳
Open spaces bookable now, and we currently have 4 of 8 spaces reserved on the course for but these will open up to anyone if still free as of Wednesday evening after their tasters!

How did we get to 25th December?!?! Here are some snaps from some of our last festive classes before the holidays! (And for some, last classes for a long time .kelly.1993 we will miss youuuuu!) So much fun with you all ❤️💚
As well as the fam being festive on our Christmas night out AND our instructor Christmas (minus Belle 🥲)- seriously, just the best gang all round.
Polers, hoopers, silksers, trapezers, handstanders, stretchers, strong gang- FREEBIRDS! We love you all and hope you have a beautiful festive time, whatever holiday you do (or don't) celebrate.

Take time to rest, be kind to yourself and others, and if you do nothing else, give yourself a hug and a wee pat on the back for getting through the year, through december, or through the day. You are all strong babes 💪 and can't wait to see you after the holidays!

Our amazing Isa is heading off on new circus adventures overseas, and we are sooo excited for her but also super sad she will be leaving us at the start of January. 

Isa has been a massive part of the studio since joining us, both in classes and behind the scenes, and anyone who has been part of her classes will know how uplifting, warm, encouraging, creative and enthusiastic a teacher and human she is, with a healthy dose of silly to make the world a more fun place. All this as well as being soooo darn talented it overflows into all of her students, bringing the silkiest of spins, gorgeous flows and the super fun and strong tricks for everyone to get involved in and to progress through, what luck we have had! It has been such a joy to have her here, and she will be so missed by so many. 

It's definitely not goodbye forever, but farewell and good luck for now. We know wherever you land you will fall feet first. And then give it a bit of butt obvs 🍑

Wellll, another Freebird show has come along and blown our minds this weekend! Saturday saw sooooo many talented people take to the stage and give it their all- and we had the BEST time watching it all unfold 🥲 thank you to each and every performer who put their heart and soul into creating something- beautiful, sassy, sexy, atmospheric, fun or (and) freaking stroooonngggg out into the world for us all to enjoy! It can feel like a vulnerable place doing so but knowing the whole crowd is there to support and celebrate and cheer every bit of effort makes it all feel worth it! Endlessly impressed, amazed and proud of everyone who takes to the stage ❤️ and to our fantastical guest performer .bitch.on.a.pole, we look forward to seeing you again on Friday 😍

🧡And so onto the audience woohoooww you really raised the roof and I can imagine there were a few lost voices on Sunday... 🤭🥰 thank you SO MUCH for your enthusiasm, support, and love throughout the night and surrounding the event.

💜 Our magnificent hosted once again in her signature joyful, fun and entertaining style, we love you and how you welcome everyone to the stage with such love and appreciation! Wouldn't be the same without you.

💛 To our wonderful instructors, including Rachel, .poles, , .seaslug, thank you for all you have put into the studio and for helping our community blossom.

💚 to EVERYONE who has been involved in making this show happen, from set up help, general sanity checks and extra assistance from Isa thank youuu, .on.a.pole being the best darn pole kitten, assistant and all round helpful bean, Belle with the rigging help, to our lights and sound crew, james and , and .uk for being there with the camera! (You can look forward to that spam in coming weeks hehe) and just anyone who has supported, bought tickets, shared links- everything. You all make it happen and I'm so grateful to have such a supportive community around the studio.
