Working on my biggest weakness... my little chicken legs 🐔😂

I'm not usually one for posting training videos. I've never felt people need to see what I do or how I train. But now that I have my own gym, I thought I'd share a little bit of what goes on behind the scenes.

Today I utilised some of our more unorthodox kit that's geared towards sports performance, injury prevention and rehabilitation. I was particularly pleased with the Nordics and the progress on the tibialis machine. Just 6 weeks ago, 2.5kg per side was too much. Today I was comfortably working with 5kg per side. Small improvements, but improvements all the same.

Finished the session with some sprints too, despite battling the dreaded man flu over the last week.

I've got 9 weeks until my holiday and, if I'm honest, my goal isn't to get shredded or walk around with a six-pack. It's simply to feel comfortable in my own skin again. To be able to take my top off on holiday without worrying what people think or feeling judged because I own a gym.

The reality is that health and fitness isn't about conforming to an image. It's about being the best version of yourself, whatever that looks like. Progress is progress, and right now I'm enjoying the process.

Well, it's been 4 weeks since we've had Cammy in the clinic, and as always it was great to catch up and hear about his latest exploits in the gym! 🙈🔥

Cammy is driven to succeed in everything he does, and sometimes it's a challenge convincing him that recovery is just as important as training. Like many dedicated athletes, he'd happily keep pushing until his body says no, but we're slowly helping to shift that mindset while still supporting him to become the best version of himself physically.💪🏻

He regularly comes in to get those little niggles assessed and treated before they become bigger issues, allowing him to keep progressing towards his goals.

We've got some exciting developments coming up at the clinic too, with increased appointment availability and new treatment options on the horizon.

To book a Sports Therapy appointment, check our bio for availability and more information. We can't wait to help you perform at your best! 🙌

CLIENT ACHIEVEMENT 👏🔥

Kev came to me with one clear goal — qualify for the European Age Group Championships next year in Kitzbühel, Austria… and he’s only gone and done it 💪🇦🇹

After finishing 5th in the 55–59 age group with a time of 2hrs 31mins 19s, Kev has officially secured qualification for next year’s championships.

When Kev first came to me, he had a “few” niggles that were holding him back. Over a focused 16-week period, we built a clear programme targeting weak areas, improving movement quality, and developing overall strength & conditioning to support his performance goals.

This is exactly why training should never just be about short-term results. It’s about building sustainable progress, improving longevity, and helping people continue performing at their best for years to come.

Massively proud of you Kev. You put the work in day after day — I just guided you to the best of my ability 👏

Proof that if you truly put your mind to something, you can achieve incredible things at any age.

This wasn’t steady state cardio — it was interval work 👌

With a dodgy ankle and a football background, this style of running suits me far better. Football isn’t played at one pace, so neither is my conditioning.

The bigger goal right now is rebuilding consistency after a rough couple of years with asthma and sinus issues affecting my health and fitness.

The fat loss will come as a by-product of tidying my food up, getting organised again and stacking good habits consistently. Having a holiday in 15 weeks definitely helps motivation too 😂

I think people sometimes forget that even gym owners and PTs have insecurities, setbacks and periods where they don’t feel great in themselves either.

The important thing is starting again.

28:06 today. Progress 👊

Congratulations to Stobswell AFC on winning the historic North of Tay Cup for the second time in just 3 years 🏆💙

An incredible achievement and a real reflection of the hard work, standards and togetherness throughout the club. To win any trophy once is special — but to lift a cup with this much history twice in such a short period shows the level this team has reached.

The North of Tay Cup has a huge history within Dundee amateur football, with winners dating back to the late 1920s and early 1930s, as shown engraved on the trophy itself. Generations of clubs have competed for it over the decades, and now Stobbie continues to cement their own place in that history.

Massive congratulations to all the players, coaches, committee, volunteers and supporters involved 👏⚽

🧠 Mental Health Awareness Month 🧠

Just a reminder to anyone who may be struggling right now…

You are not weak for having bad days.
You are not a burden for opening up.
And you do not have to go through things alone.

Life can become overwhelming at times, and too many people — especially men — suffer in silence because they feel they have to “just get on with it.” Checking in, speaking up, or asking for help is not weakness. It takes strength.

💔 Some heartbreaking statistics:
• Around 3 out of every 4 su***des in the UK are men
• Around 11–14 men lose their lives to su***de every single day in the UK
• In Scotland, men account for around 74% of su***des
• Dundee has one of the highest su***de rates in Scotland

These are not just statistics.
These are sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, mums, dads, teammates and friends.

Please reach out to someone you trust.
A friend.
A family member.
A teammate.
A colleague.
Anyone.

And if you need more support, there are people and organisations ready to listen without judgement.

Sometimes one conversation can genuinely save a life.

Check in on your mates.
Send the message.
Make the call.
Ask twice if someone says they’re “fine.”

You never truly know what someone is carrying behind closed doors. 🖤
