A picture from my last marathon 9 years ago which popped up in my timeline as my 4 year old daughter looks on.

I’d just ran a PB but I still wasn’t happy.

It’s bizarre now looking back at it.

The thing is, in the world of exercise and fitness very few of us are truly content with where we are.

Most of us are guilty of always chasing something more — being leaner, getting fitter, running faster, lifting heavier, or reaching the next goal. You see others and it’s easy to feel inferior in comparison.

We rarely stop to appreciate how far we’ve come.

We forget that we’re healthy, fortunate enough to move our bodies, and able to exercise when many people would love to have that opportunity.

Of course, improvement is rewarding.

Having goals and striving to be better is part of what makes life enjoyable.

But every now and then, it’s worth slowing down and taking stock of where you are today. Remind yourself:

“I know I’m not perfect, but I feel better now than I used to be’

Don’t become so focused on the next milestone that you forget to appreciate the progress you’ve already made.

Enjoy the present 💛

It’s where life is happening🖤

I would like to think as coaches 💬we get it💬

And based on that we 💬attract who we are💬

We are 44,45 and 49 (clinging on 🙄)

It’s then of no surprise at all, that over 80% of our client base fall within the 40 plus metric.

What we have in common as coaches is that exercise and fitness is central in our lives, it is a way of life and constant.

Our approach is to simply try and ensure The Unit is a place where are Group PT clients enjoy structured exercise, feel comfortable and keep coming back.

Because long term, that’s what provides physical health and mental wealth.

A service you actually use.

A critical part of your week.

Something you need 💛🖤

📲 always there for a tour & a chat if you think it might meet your need 🙃

The best goal for any client to have is to turn up.

The best goal for any fitness business to have is to get clients to continually turn up.

That’s enough. It’s plenty.

Clients don’t need to be ‘targeting anything’, you don’t ever need to compare and contrast to what others are doing. Don’t be fooled on that.

The large majority of our clients are not coming to The Unit for us to magically change their body or completely overhaul their lives.

That’s not it at all.

What we have is adults seeking exercise structure, weekly activity for a healthier lifestyle and a community, somewhere they feel they belong and a reason to keep showing up when life gets busy.

Stuff they simply would not do if left to paddle their own canoe.

It’s our job to provide that as best we can and being an environment they enjoy attending.

Of course, improving strength, fitness, and body composition may still be goals along the way but that’s just a by product to regularly turning up, week after week, month after month.

For many people, our clients, folk in their 40s and beyond, the sole biggest win is simply building consistency and maintaining a routine they wouldn’t stick to on their own.

And that’s more than okay 💛

….and always will be 🖤

Like most businesses we use our socials just to provide a window into our 4 walls and a glimpse of the everyday clients we support.

With our Group PT, we understand that most people walk through our doors carrying far more than just a water bottle.

Life in your 30-40s and beyond often means balancing careers, raising children, supporting family, managing stress, paying bills, and trying to find a moment for yourself somewhere in between.

It’s a tough old shift.

That’s why we’ve always believed our space should be more than just a place to exercise.

A space where people can switch off, breathe, move, laugh, learn something and leave feeling lighter than when they arrived. Because fitness shouldn’t feel like another stress added to an already busy life.

As coaches, it’s 100% our responsibility to create an environment where people feel supported, welcomed, and understood.

That is our community, and that is our focus.

We know not every session will begin with high energy or motivation, but if we can provide long term consistency, encouragement, and a positive environment, then we’re doing our job properly.

The right environment can improve someone’s entire day.

We never take for granted the privilege people have in being able to train, move their bodies, and invest time in themselves.

A bit of hard work, a bit of fun, and a space where people can feel better within themselves again. That is simply what we are about.

Trust me, we all need it 💛🖤

More people getting involved in fitness is always a very good thing.

There are so many forms of fitness and plenty of choices.

From running to bodybuilding,
……biking to strongman,
……..pilates to CrossFit,
……….triathlons to hyrox,
……………boxing to swimming

None are better or worse than the other.

Just do your thing…..have your preferences and leave others to have there’s 🙌

Avoid the critics and the haters, make an effort to inspire others who badly ‘need it’ for their mental and physical wellbeing to get involved 🧠

Everyone deserves have a journey to become a better & happier version of themselves through exercise.

It’s truly the most powerful medicine on earth 💛🌍🖤

A clients journey via our Inbody Composition scanner ⚖️

Track More Than Just Weight — See Real Progress with InBody Scans, data is king.

It’s our most expensive piece of kit in the gym…by far !

At our Group PT sessions, we’re all about helping you see real progress — and the InBody Composition Scan makes that super easy.

Unlike regular scales that only tell you your weight, the InBody scan gives you a much better breakdown of what’s actually going on in your body, including:

• Body fat percentage
• Muscle mass
• Visceral fat levels
• Hydration levels
• Metabolic rate
• Segmental muscle balance

That means you can spot progress that normal scales completely miss.

Even if your weight hasn’t changed, you could still be building muscle, dropping body fat, and improving your overall health — and the InBody scan helps show exactly that.

Why our members love it:

✔ Easy-to-see progress tracking
✔️Blue tooth / app technology to your phone
✔ More personalised training advice
✔ Better goal setting and accountability
✔ Motivation from real results, not guesswork
✔ Helps spot plateaus or imbalances early

Your scan results also help our coaches view your data with a 4 weekly check in, so you get the most out of your membership.

Train smarter. Track accurately. Stay motivated.

Because real progress is about more than just the number on the scale.
