As a boxing club - we keep asking for votes so thought I’d give you a bit of background on what it is we do!
We’re a community based boxing club in Llanrumney - we are completely volunteer run - coaches give up their time 3+ nights a week 52 weeks of the year to help develop, support, coach and train kids from as young as 6 to box and if they want - to compete. The club was established in 2008 and has grown from strength to strength, with now over 120 people per day passing through the door.
We also run classes for children with ADHD and Autism. We have a good working partnership with South Wales Police in running projects to prevent knife crime and engage young people back in to school. We run classes for people with anxiety, depression and dementia both at the gym and on the dementia ward in Llandough Hospital.
We also have a project working with Cardiff Council and the Homeless Service in which Homeless people have a class at the boxing gym followed by lunch and support sessions.
We’ve got an open door policy - no one is turned away and everyone is made to feel welcome and part of our team.
We’ve also this summer put on a Summer Club with over 50 children from 18 different schools across Cardiff attending - they have breakfast and lunch with us and its a free provision!
So as you can see - there is a lot going on - but this is just the beginning for us!!
Thanks for reading! Keep voting!! 🥊
