🌍 KILIMANJARO 2026 🏔️
When we think about climbing Kilimanjaro, it’s easy to think the challenge is those 10 days climbing and descending Africa’s tallest freestanding mountain.
But the challenge actually starts long before we reach the mountain.
Today was another big training walk: 9.74 miles, over 4 hours, 876m elevation and 22,472 steps, carrying our rucksacks and getting our bodies used to what’s ahead. 🥾🎒
There’s so much that goes into preparing for this challenge. Long walks, hills, rucksack training, fitness, vaccinations, travel insurance, an extensive kit list and, perhaps most importantly, preparing ourselves mentally for something that will push us way outside our comfort zones.
We’re doing this as a team of 24, and right now we’re feeling excited, nervous, apprehensive and pretty much everything in between! 😂
But most importantly, we have a reason for doing it. ❤️
We’re raising money for Friends of Furze Down and YC2 Buckingham & Winslow Young Carers, two causes that are incredibly important to us and our local community.
Friends of Furze Down raises money to provide additional resources, experiences and opportunities for the pupils at Furze Down School, helping to enrich school life and support the educational, cultural and social wellbeing of children with additional needs.
YC2 provides support, friendship, activities and opportunities for local young carers children and young people who take on caring responsibilities at home and deserve the chance to simply be young people, have fun, make friends and have some time away from those responsibilities.

Every mile, every hill and every tough training session is helping us get closer to the summit, but hopefully also helping us make a difference to people who really matter to us.
If you can donate, no matter how small, we would be incredibly grateful. Every donation really can make a difference. ❤️
Kilimanjaro 2026… here we come! 🏔️🥾
