🐝 CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT

Padbury Village FC can confirm that First Team Manager Ashley McAndrew-Hack has stepped down from his role after three years in charge.

Ashley is joined in departing the club by Assistant Manager Ben Gold and First Team Secretary Rafe Birch White.

The management team arrived in the summer of 2023 and made an immediate impact, building a strong and competitive squad. In their first season, they led the club to promotion from the North Bucks Premier Division to the Spartan South Midlands League Division Two - marking Padbury Village’s return to Step 7 football for the first time since 2011.

Over the past two seasons, the group has guided the club through a challenging and competitive division, working tirelessly to retain its Step 7 status. Their efforts, commitment and leadership throughout this period are greatly appreciated.

As the club enters a new chapter, Padbury Village FC is now inviting applications for the position of First Team Manager to lead the club into the 2026/27 season and beyond.

FT: PVFC 1-1 Aston Clinton

Our goal to break the deadlock wasn’t enough after Aston Clinton hit back with a bit of a screamer - volleyed into the top corner giving Ryan Lightfoot no chance.

A bit stop start which isn’t what either side would have really wanted with lots of warnings given to players on both sides and full time somehow not coming until 4pm?!

A positive performance in our first for over 4 weeks with a very welcome return for skipper Harry Heritage and a first outing for new boy Sam Barber.

A good point and a fair one for both teams, onto Totternhoe (away) next Saturday!

We started the season well but, over the last couple of months, injuries, unavailability and a handful of departures have stretched the squad. As we head into the second half of the season, we’re actively looking to bring in new players who can strengthen the group.

A game which had some good goals but nothing on Stony Stratford’s first, which no keeper on the planet would have saved.

After some guilt edged chances missed in the second half we began to think it might be yet another one of those days, but Mason Hart and Zach Chambers each score their first goals for PVFC to win us the game.

Hard work, grit and determination saw the lads through and into the next round of the cup.

🐝 | MATCH DAY!

PVFC socials are back today after a lengthy break away... the sun isn't shining and we're making the journey over to Luton on a Saturday afternoon which means only one thing - it's match day!

A full 16 travel to Kingsway Recreation Ground to face 61FC in this South Midlands Division 2 clash.

We took all 6 points from this fixture last year but know that the home side are a much changed outfit and will be a tougher test this time out.

Full Time: Bovingdon 2–1 PVFC

A frustrating afternoon for the lads. We created a string of clear chances in the first half but couldn’t find the net, and went in 1–0 down after a stunning long-range strike from the Bovingdon No. 9—one he’d struggle to repeat if he tried all week.

The second half was more balanced, but a lapse in concentration allowed Bovingdon to double their lead. Matty Carr pulled one back late on with a clever finish over the keeper, but it proved too little, too late.

Plenty of positives to take despite the result, especially with 14 players unavailable. We showed enough quality to win the game comfortably—just lacked the finishing touch.

Attention now turns to Tuesday’s clash with MK College, which feels like a must-win.

Our 4th and final home game of the opening month is here – we host Sarratt at Springfields tomorrow in a Spartan South Midlands fixture.

Let’s end August strong and keep the momentum going. Admission is free, so come down and back the lads!

Match result from yesterdays game…

FT: Stony Stratford 1-3 PVFC
Butler (70’, 89’, 90+4’)

Persistence was key. Whilst we were on top for large periods having started the first half with good intensity and showcasing some of our best passing football of the season so far, it was Stony Stratford who took the league after a Henry Richmond own goal looped over goalkeeper Harsh Khandelwal.

Stony had the chance to double their lead early in the second half after a stonewall penalty but it was thankfully blazed over the bar and the Stony Stratford striker won’t want to see that one back anytime soon.

PVFC kept fighting though and some big changes were made in the second half which freed up Dale Butler who rolled back the years and scored a lovely hattrick to take all 3 points.

We are back at home this weekend to host Sarratt who have started the season well - 3PM KO - see you there!
