Sounds about right as we contemplate a wavy female from a friend’s current litter to eventually breed to Hijinx or Bodie :-)

My mental health is held together by dog hair, entry fees, and the belief that one more dog will fix everything

While no Kithnkin PWDs were entered at the Halifax Kennel Club shows this weekend, I did go to support our good friends yesterday!

Over the moon happy to share that Heather Burgess’s PWD male, Ark Angel’s Take’em to the train station won Best in Show ❤. Huge congratulations to his breeders Laura Toast and Kristie Marangon, his conformation handler Kimberley MacKay, CPHA and his owners Heather and Brenton!

Having a supportive and encouraging community within the dog breeding and showing community is vital. In that regard we are incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by such amazing people.

Smokey and Hijinx were happy to run and play in the backyard today before the incoming rain system.

Was able to get the lawn mowed but unfortunately the whipper snipping and racking will have to wait.

Future travel goals! 😂

By the time we got:
- 3 Ruffland kennels (2 intermediate and 1 Large),
- canopy tent,
- camp chairs
- beach umbrella
- grooming table
- grooming supplies
- Dog food, water and bowls
- Crate fans
- Human snacks for the drive
- 2 suitcases for the humans

The CRV resembled a complex game of Tetris where every inch was packed solid while still allowing some side window access for safely checking blind spots while driving.

What a week!

After much discussion and review of our goals for 2026 Heather Burgess and I decided to attend the PWDCC National Specialty being held in conjunction with the Elgin County Kennel club shows.

The dogs all travelled well, handled the changes in their routine, and continued to be happy showing regardless of which handler had them!

Huge appreciation to the planning committee of the specialty!! The rosettes are gorgeous, the prizes for the Award of Merit and Best Puppy in Specialty are beautiful and practical, and all the goodie bags were stuffed ❤. I really appreciated the buffet lunch and the opportunity to continue building contacts within the PWD community.
