KithnKin PWDs Breeder of Portuguese Water Dogs As a small-scale home-based breeder, my focus is on producing medium-sized dogs that excel in various dog sports.

I prioritize health, temperament, and athleticism in my breeding program to ensure that my puppies not only thrive in competitive environments but also make excellent family companions. The Portuguese Water Dog is renowned for its versatility and intelligence, enabling it to excel in agility, obedience, and other dog sports. My breeding practices are centered on responsible and ethical standards,

including genetic testing and careful selection of both dam and sire. I ensure the puppies are well-socialized from an early age, introducing them to different environments, people, and experiences to build their confidence and adaptability. Each puppy is raised in a loving home environment, where they receive the attention and training needed to prepare them for their future homes. I also provide potential buyers with guidance on training and sports participation, so they can enjoy a fulfilling experience with their new companion. By focusing on quality over quantity, I aim to contribute to the breed’s excellence in sports while ensuring that each dog is a healthy, happy member of a family. Yesterday we focused on walking into and out of the water with me, along with a few short with me swims! Today was all about the retrieve and swimming longer distances

Hijinx wanted to share that “show dogs” are not precious ornaments.

He has gone from having green stained paws on Friday to brown muddy paws this morning after spending the weekend trotting around the show ring. This little boy definitely prefers to be rolling and digging in anything that creates a mess ❤.

He is also wishing all his siblings a Happy 6 months birthday!! Hoping all the pups are having opportunities to explore the world and get messy.

Well that’s a wrap on another busy weekend!

Bodie and Hijinx completed their Baby Puppy careers at the South Shore Kennel Club shows in Lunenburg. Saturday saw Hijinx win the breed with his talented handler, Joslyn. While today, Bodie and his handler, Key, took the top spot. The pups and I also got to spend time watching Bodie’s big brother, Dutton (Ark Angel Take’em To The Train Station) compete in Breed and Group competition.

Navy competed this afternoon in a SDDA scent trial in Dartmouth, NS where she successfully passed her Advanced Interior and Exterior components. Unfortunately, her handler made a bad call on her container search so we will continue to work on that component. Lovely comments from the judge on her performance and overall very pleased with Navy’s willingness to play this game.

Hijinx says he is ready for his last Baby Puppy conformation show this weekend at the South Shore Kennel Club. 🤣

Smokey has successfully earned her 2nd leg in CD, while Navy now has her 1st leg! Navy continued the trend of beating her sister by going High in Class (Nov B )
