Truro, N.S. (June 15, 2026) – The Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) is pleased to announce the 2026 Territorial Draft selections.

Four teams made the maximum of two selections this year. The following four teams did not make a territorial selection will receive two compensation picks following round two: Amherst, Edmundston, Grand Falls, and Truro. Four teams made one selection (Campbellton, Chaleur, West Kent, and Yarmouth) and will receive one compensation pick.

The 2026 MHL Entry Draft will take place Saturday, June 20th beginning at 10 a.m. with live coverage of the first two rounds in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island on Eastlink Community TV, channels 10 and 610. The broadcast will also be available on Eastlink's YouTube channel. Full draft results will be available at themhl.ca and on social media.

La LHM annonce les choix du repêchage territorial 2026

Truro, N.-É. (15 juin 2026) – La Ligue de hockey junior des Maritimes (LHM) a le plaisir d'annoncer les sélections du repêchage territorial 2026.

Quatre équipes ont effectué le maximum de deux sélections cette année. Les quatre équipes suivantes, qui n’ont pas effectué de sélection territoriale, recevront deux choix de compensation après le deuxième tour : Amherst, Edmundston, Grand-Sault et Truro. Quatre équipes ont effectué une sélection (Campbellton, Chaleur, West-Kent et Yarmouth) et recevront un choix de compensation.

La séance de repêchage 2026 de la LHM aura lieu le samedi 20 juin à partir de 10 h. Les deux premiers tours seront retransmis en direct en Nouvelle-Écosse et à l'Ile-du-Prince-Édouard sur Eastlink Community TV, postes 10 et 610. La retransmission sera également disponible sur la chaine YouTube d'Eastlink. Les résultats complets du repêchage seront disponibles sur themhl.ca et sur les réseaux sociaux.

The University of Alberta Augustana Vikings have announced that Campbellton Tigers forward Alexi Parent has committed to their program for 2026-27.

The 20-year-old from Dieppe, N.B. joined the Yarmouth Jr. A Mariners for the 2024-25 season and tallied four goals and four assists in 47 games. He was traded to the Bage Valley Wildcats ahead of the 2025 MHL Entry Draft. He played five games in 2025-26 for the Wildcats, collecting one assist. Before the end of September, Parent was again on the move, this time to the Campbellton Tigers Jr. A Hockey Club (Official / Officielle). With the Tigers, he finished fifth on the team in scoring, with fifteen goals and 21 assists in 45 games.

The Lightning Chaleur have announced that goaltender Jack Flanagan has committed to StFX Athletics for next season.

The 21-year-old from Saint John, N.B. was selected in the 6th Round, 90th overall, by the Summerside Western Capitals in the 2021 MHL Entry Draft. Flanagan was traded to the Miramichi Timberwolves in November 2022 and began his MHL career, posting a record of 6-5-0-0 in twelve games in 2022-23 with the Timberwolves. He had a 3.59 goals against average and an .887 save percentage.

His workload increased in his second season, with a 13-6-2-0 record in 2023-24 with a 3.08 goals against average and a .900 save percentage. He was an Honourable Mention for Top Goaltender in November 2023 and February 2024 and was named to the Eastlink North Team of the Week once. Flanagan was nearly unbeatable in the Metalfab MHL Cup Playoffs with an 11-0-2 record, 2.86 goals against average, and .917 save percentage as the Timberwolves beat West Kent, Edmundston, and Summerside for their first-ever league championship. At the Centennial Cup, he played two of six games as Miramichi lost in the semifinal to the eventual champions from Collingwood, ON.

In 2024-25, Flanagan played in the most games of any netminder (38), had the second-most minutes played, and was named an All-Star for the Eastlink North. He posted a record of 19-14-0-1, tying with two others for the most wins, and was fourth with a 2.97 goals against average. Flanagan's .925 save percentage was tied for third-best with Summerside’s George Gallant, and he made the most saves in the MHL with 1,276. Flanagan also had two shutouts, tied for the second-most this season. He was named to the Eastlink North Team of the Week seven times and the league’s Top Goaltender in January. In the playoffs, he had a 1-4-0 record with a 4.40 goals against average and .891 save percentage as Miramichi lost in the first round to Edmundston.

Flanagan had a 10-12-1-1 record with a 3.29 goals against average and .905 save percentage with Miramichi in 2025-26 before being dealt to Chaleur at the trade deadline. He finished the regular season with a 9-5-0-0 record for the Lightning with a 3.92 goals against average and .882 save percentage. In the playoffs, Flanagan went 6-4-1 with a 3.64 goals against average and .883 save percentage as Chaleur lost in the second round to Edmundston. He was named to the Eastlink North Teams of the Week three times.

The Miramichi Timberwolves are proud to announce that goaltender Zach Ericson has committed to continue his academic and hockey career at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin, where he will compete at the NCAA Division III level.

Since joining the Timberwolves, Zach has been a cornerstone of our program. His dedication, work ethic, and commitment to excellence have been evident every time he stepped onto the ice. Through countless big saves and outstanding performances, Zach has earned the respect of his teammates, coaches, opponents, and fans alike.

Beyond his contributions in the crease, Zach has represented the Timberwolves organization with tremendous character throughout the Miramichi community. Whether participating in team events, community initiatives, or serving as a role model for young hockey players, he has consistently demonstrated what it means to wear the Timberwolves crest with pride.

On behalf of our entire organization, we would like to thank Zach for his dedication, leadership, and commitment during his time with the Timberwolves.

We are excited to watch Zach take the next step in his hockey journey and wish him nothing but success at St. Norbert College.

The Pictou County Weeks Junior A Crushers have announced that defenseman Cory MacGillivray has committed to StFX Athletics for next season.

The 21-year-old from New Glasgow, N.S. was a Territorial Draft Pick of the Crushers, 51st overall, in the 2021 MHL Entry Draft. He played 38 games for Pictou County in the 2021-22 season, registering three goals and ten assists. His thirteen points were third among rookie blueliners.

After two-and-a-half seasons in the QMJHL with the Rimouski Océanic, Gatineau Olympiques, and Acadie-Bathurst Titan, MacGillivray returned to Pictou County and tallied six assists in seventeen regular season games. He was named to the Eastlink South Team of the Week once. In the Metalfab MHL Cup Playoffs, MacGillivray had one goal and one assist in eight games in helping the Crushers reach the league final against Edmundston.

Returning to the club in 2025-26 as an assistant captain, finished fourth in defenseman scoring in the MHL with 52 points in 51 games. Among blueliners, MacGillivray's twelve goals were third-most and 40 assists fifth-most in the league, while he finished fourth in powerplay points (17) on the strength of sixteen powerplay assists. He also had three game-winning goals, which were the second-most at his position. He was an Honourable Mention for Top Defenseman in November and was named to the Eastlink South Team of the Week seven times.
