New year, new look!

As the CHEL Rec League continues to grow, we're excited to introduce a brand-new division for the upcoming season.

Our goal has always been to create a league where players of all skill levels have a place to compete, have fun, and be part of the game. With another year of growth, adding this new division allows us to welcome even more players and ensure everyone has an opportunity to play at the level that fits them best.

Congratulations to all of the players selected to this year's CHEL Ball Hockey All-Star Teams. Your dedication, skill, and outstanding performances throughout the season have earned you this well-deserved recognition.

Before we announce this year's All-Star Teams, we'd also like to recognize our 2026 Regular Season Co-MVPs. In one of the closest MVP races we've had, we felt it was appropriate to name them as Co-MVP's. All three players are very deserving recipients of this year's honour.

As another incredible Ball Hockey season comes to a close, we just want to take a moment to thank everyone who was part of it this summer.
From the opening-night shootout to the championship being decided in a shootout, what a way to close to book on another unforgettable season!

A huge congratulations goes out to every team and every player who competed all summer long. The level of competition, sportsmanship, and commitment made this another fantastic year for our league.

Congratulations to No Names on an outstanding season and on being crowned our 2026 Ball Hockey League Champions! They finished with an outstanding 13-1 record this season. A special congratulations once again also goes to Jonathan Fredeen, who was named our Playoff MVP after an outstanding postseason performance.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mel's Convenience for being such an incredible supporter of our Kids Ball Hockey Program this summer. Thanks to your generosity, our young players looked professional all season long, and your commitment to youth sports is truly appreciated.

Finally, we'd like to extend our sincerest thanks to Donna and Ellery, at Deuville's Arena. Your support, dedication, and hospitality throughout the entire season made this league possible. We truly couldn't have done it without you.

In what may go down as the game of the century, No Names captured the CHEL Ball Hockey Championship last night defeating Marvis Hair Studio 7-6 in a thrilling shootout victory.

In a back-and-forth battle all night long, both teams traded goals and momentum, with multiple lead changes as each side looked to push themselves ahead.

It was No Names who found themselves in control late, building a 6-4 lead with time ticking down. With their season on the line, Marvis Hair Studio dug deep and mounted a dramatic late comeback, scoring twice in the closing moments to tie the game at 6-6 and force overtime.

Neither team could solve either goaltender in the extra frame, as both netminders stood tall to keep the game tied and send the championship to a dramatic shootout.

With everything on the line, Jonathan Fredeen stepped up for No Names and beat Steve Turnbull to secure the championship victory and send No Names into celebration.

Fredeen was named the CHEL Ball Hockey Playoff MVP, capping off an incredible postseason performance. After scoring the game-winning goal in Game 1, he once again delivered when it mattered most, scoring the shootout winner in Game 2 to help No Names capture the championship.

Congratulations to No Names on an unforgettable championship run, and a huge congratulations to Marvis Hair Studio and every other team this season. We look forward to seeing you all back next year.

The championship is on the line as No Names battles Marvis Hair Studio in a pivotal Game 2!

No Names have the opportunity to close out the series and claim the championship after their 4-1 Game 1 victory Tuesday night.

Don't count out Marvis just yet. Can they rise to the occasion, keep their season alive, and force a winner-take-all Game 3 on Sunday night?

Will a champion be crowned... or will the battle continue?

Game 1 of the CHEL Ball Hockey Championship Final took place last night, and it was a tightly contested battle from start to finish.

After a hard-fought opening period, neither team could find the back of the net as the game headed into the break scoreless at 0-0. Both goaltenders, Bryan MacEachern for No Names and Steve Turnbull for Marvis Hair Studio, were sharp early and kept the game deadlocked.

No Names eventually broke through in the second half, capitalizing on a scramble in front of the Marvis net to take a 1-0 lead. A short time later, another tough break for Marvis led to No Names doubling their advantage, making it 2-0 with just over five minutes remaining.

Marvis refused to go away quietly. A bouncing ball found its way past MacEachern to cut the deficit to 2-1 and give Marvis life late in the game. They generated a couple of quality opportunities in the closing minutes, but MacEachern and the No Names defence stood tall when it mattered most.

With Marvis pressing for the equalizer, No Names sealed the victory with an empty-net goal to make it 3-1, then added one more to finish with a 4-1 win and take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three championship series.

Game 2 goes Thursday night at 7:30 PM at Deuville's Arena.

Will No Names finish the job and be crowned CHEL Ball Hockey Champions? Or will Marvis Hair Studio force a winner-take-all Game 3?

THE CHEL BALL HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL IS SET!

The stage is set for a championship showdown!
The #1 seeded No Names will take on the #2 seeded Marvis Hair Studio in a best-of-three series to decide the CHEL Ball Hockey Champions.

For the No Names, it’s a chance to avenge their only loss of the season a season opening defeat against Marvis that has remained the lone blemish on an impressive season.
For Marvis Hair Studio, it’s a chance to prove they can go toe-to-toe with the league’s top team and cap off a strong playoff run with a championship.

The headline matchup will be on full display as the league’s top scorers go head-to-head. Jay Reason and Trevor Fredeen have been leading the way offensively all season for their teams, who will be looking to their stars to provide the spark when it matters most.

Two teams. One trophy.

With a trip to the CHEL Ball Hockey Finals on the line, Marvis Hair Studio delivered when it mattered most, defeating Gratto's Plumbing in the decisive Game 3 to punch their ticket to the championship.

After a back-and-forth opening period, Marvis took a 4-3 lead into the first intermission. The turning point came early in the second period when Marvis erupted for three consecutive goals, stretching their advantage to 7-3 and taking control of the game.

To their credit, Gratto's Plumbing refused to quit, battling back and cutting the deficit to within two goals late in the game. Every time they threatened, Marvis netminder Steve Turnbull came up with the timely save, shutting the door to preserve the victory.

The stage is now set for an exciting CHEL Ball Hockey Finals matchup as No Names and Marvis Hair Studio battle for the championship!
