Why don’t we usually include a cooldown in our classes?
At The Body Engineers, we want to make the most of your one-hour class.
That means using our time to educate and demonstrate each exercise, guide you through a dynamic warm-up that prepares you for the movements ahead, and then give you enough time to train hard while focusing on building strength and muscle.
Because the class is only one hour, adding a full cooldown would mean rushing the workout or cutting short the time dedicated to your main training. That would ultimately affect the quality of your results.
A cooldown can still be useful, but within a limited class timeframe, it is a lower priority than quality coaching, preparation, and productive strength training. Some of our coaches will still take you through a cooldown afterwards if time allows.
In this video, Coach CP demonstrates six stretches you can follow independently after a lower-body class:
1. Calf stretch
2. Tibialis anterior stretch
3. Hamstring stretch
4. Couch stretch — quadriceps and hip flexors
5. Adductor stretch
6. Seated glute stretch
Save this video and use it after your next lower-body class. Move through each stretch with control, breathe normally, and never force a painful range of motion.
