In all my years of training different modalities, teaching and observing others do the same, filming🤳🏼 without consent or paying attention, pushing beyond limits without support completely ignoring safety and the purpose of it all really saddens me and concerns me…..
📱The IG craze, the faster pace of life that nobody can keep up with anymore making everyone impatient in the search of instant gratification in order to feel sth, anything! Somehow we’re all convinced we’re not good enough..I often think to myself “Why would people feel the need to prove sth without putting the actual work in with respect to their own bodies, instructors and peers”? What’s the rush?Who are they doing it for and why?
🤓On top of that many unqualified individuals have somehow found themselves charging money to teach but have no idea how. Sometimes they don’t even know what they’re teaching…What’s the point of a cult following and putting others at risk? Is it just financial or is there a psychological explanation behind it 🧐?
🍎📚Teaching is a huge responsibility not to be taken lightly…I’ve always wondered why people question accredited certifications, experience, practice hours, supervised teaching, studying/working with mentors…
For me it’s not a technicality and no I’m not going to guess when I am responsible of people’s bodies. Yes I make mistakes and I’m constantly learning and evolving (I am human after all) but a support system and foundation based on education is a non negotiable. I understand that everyone’s path is different but there should be some common ground on safety and teaching framework otherwise what are we even doing?🤪
It makes me so mad and I can only do so much…As an educator, I want to set a good example but also, people need to educate themselves..we forgot how to use our brains🧠I think or we’re just too busy recording/posting and not actually experiencing and asking real questions…
Maybe I’m just getting older and grumpier🤪 I just can’t anymore🤷🏼♀️
end of rant🙃
