One thing I hear all the time from people with back pain is:
"I feel like I have to keep everything tight."
And honestly, that makes sense.
When something hurts, your body naturally tries to protect itself. You brace. You stiffen. You move as one big block because it feels safer.
The challenge is that, over time, you end up fighting tension with more tension.
Protection is a normal response. But if it sticks around too long, it can start limiting the very movement you're trying to get back.
The goal of rehab isn't to force yourself to relax.
It's to gradually help your body feel safe enough that it doesn't have to protect you quite so much.
That's what this conversation is all about.
If this sounds familiar, comment "CoreQuest." I'd love to hear what's been going on with your back.
