tips to be a better pilates instructor (things I wish I did from the beginning) ⬇️

1) build morale with your members and clients. say hi before class, give them a compliment!

2) use positive language when giving a modification. instead of saying the easier option, say more supportive

3) always have a modification for advanced moves and sequences. look around the room to see people pain points!

4) when cueing an advanced or complicated sequence, do it 1 layer at a time (example in the video)

5) remind people that they can omit the prop (example in video)

6) avoid visual language when talking about bodies (ie. no getting bikini body ready). replace that with getting stronger, etc.

people remember how you made them feel and that’s what’ll keep them coming back to your class 🤎
