There’s so much information out there on the internet, and everybody you see on social media is so fit and so fast. I make it my business to absorb all that information, as well as newest research on endurance performance topics, and brew it into simple strategies that guarantee my clients’ results. I am a Triathlon Canada registered coach with 10 years of experience racing in triathlon, competing
at the local, regional, and world championship levels. Throughout this time, my family and friends have sought my help in attaining their goals in running and triathlon. Hence, I have decided to begin offering my services to others. My ideal clients fall into two groups:
1) People with any amount of athletic background who are curious about getting into endurance sports.
2) Beginner or intermediate runners or triathletes who want to take their performance to the next level: a new distance/event type, or a personal best. The Athlete-Coach relationship process:
1) We begin with an opening consultation where we cover your athletic background and what you hope to get out of this coaching relationship. Together, we can decide on an event, a goal, or simply target a measurable improvement in fitness. Goal setting is a vital part of the endurance process and an area where I can help. 2) We choose an existing training plan or develop a custom one together. This provides the pathway to get you from where you are, to the results you want. The best training plans are in multiples of 4 weeks. Usually 4-8 weeks for shorter events, 8-12 for medium-length, or 12-20 weeks for longer events (like Ironman). This plan will account for the equipment you have access to, and the number of hours you can train per week.
3) Execute the plan. As a coach, I will be accessible to provide advice and feedback on how to enact the plan, and how to get the most out of your training. If you are local to Ottawa Ontario, we can even train together! If you are remote, I am happy to communicate by video chat. But I am also accessible by phone, email, or text whenever you need it. Life gets in everyone’s way. Any good coach knows that training plans need to be constantly adjusted to fit the adjusting needs of the athlete, while still getting them to their goal. I will provide constant feedback and adjustments to your plan to fit your lifestyle.
