What I wish more mums knew about showing up!
This is a picture of me and my eldest son when he was only 3 or 4 years old (he is now 15!) but I remember that season of having a toddler in tow and some days felt so much harder than others!
Some days I didn't have the energy to exercise and move how I wanted to - at the gym lifting weights. But I knew that I could get out and move with my son - running around the playground and kicking a ball around! Or bringing him to class with me and training with him by my side!
Movement & exercise doesn’t have to look a certain way.
You don’t need to feel energetic.
You don’t need to be in a good mood.
You don’t need to have it all together.
And you definitely don’t need to arrive ready to give 100%.
Some days, simply getting out the door with baby or toddler in tow, and showing up to class is the win.
Over the years, I’ve seen plenty of mums arrive tired, overwhelmed, anxious or completely touched out. And that’s okay. You are always welcome exactly as you are.
Showing up doesn’t mean pushing through or ignoring what your body needs.
It means meeting yourself where you are that day.
Maybe you train a little lighter. Maybe you take more breaks. Maybe you come for the movement, the fresh air, the conversation and the chance to do something for you.
There is strength in simply showing up when part of you almost didn’t. 🩵
So if you’re waiting to feel motivated, energetic or “ready” before you start - don’t.
Come as you are. We’ll meet you there.
