What a fantastic way to bring the 2026 Blomfield Environmental Winter Masters season to a close!

Friday night’s Grand Final at the Great Barrier Reef Arena delivered everything that makes Masters cricket so enjoyable — competitive cricket, great spirit, plenty of camaraderie and a thrilling finish under lights.

Congratulations again to Vikings Masters Cricket, our 2026 Premiers, and to Walkerston Masters on a terrific season and Grand Final performance. 👏

A competition like this only happens because of the support of so many people. A huge thank you to all of our players, teams, umpires, scorers, volunteers, supporters, grounds staff and venue staff who contributed throughout the season.

A very special thank you to Lloyd Blomfield and Blomfield Environmental for their continued support of Masters cricket in Mackay. Lloyd plays an important role in coordinating and supporting the competition, and Blomfield Environmental’s ongoing sponsorship helps us continue to deliver a strong Winter Masters competition. VIKINGS ARE THE CHAMPIONS! 🏆⚔️

In a cracking Grand Final under lights at the Great Barrier Reef Arena, Vikings Masters Cricket chased down Walkerston’s 160 with just one ball remaining to claim the 2026 Blomfield Environmental Winter Masters Premiership! 🔥🏏

Walkerston Masters posted:

🏏 9/160 from 25 overs

The Vikings then produced a composed run chase, led by a brilliant innings from Dean Thiesfield:

🔥 53 retired not out from 31 balls
💥 8 fours and 1 six

He received important support from Dean McCartney with 34, while Lance Ryan added 22 as the Vikings kept themselves right in the contest.

With the pressure building late, Noel Bickel and Maui Mateariki held their nerve to get the Vikings across the line:

Earlier in the night, Michael Randles gave the Vikings the perfect start with a devastating spell of 4/33, including three wickets in his opening over, earning him Player of the Final honours. 🎯🔥

A Grand Final full of momentum swings, big moments and plenty of pressure — and in the end, the Vikings found a way to get it done! 👏

Michael Randles produced a sensational spell for Vikings Masters Cricket in Friday night’s Blomfield Environmental Winter Masters Grand Final under lights at the Great Barrier Reef Arena.

Randles tore through the Walkerston top order in a devastating opening over, removing:

🏏 Brett Clive

💥 Three wickets in the opening over — Walkerston 3/5!

And he wasn’t finished there.

The CiteCon Kingfishers capped off an outstanding tournament at Great Barrier Reef Arena, defeating the BTB Electrical Breakers by 81 runs to claim another Porters T20 Smash championship! 💜👑
