We’re incredibly proud to recognise the Mackay Sports Foundation’s fifth round of grant recipients!🏆

Each of these talented local athletes has reached an incredible milestone in their sporting journey, competing at either a national or international level - what an achievement!!🤩

Our recipients were presented with their grants alongside a special visit and congratulations from Mayor Greg Williamson and Sergeant Nigel Dalton, celebrating the hard work and dedication that has taken them to this level.

A huge congratulations to all of our Round 5 recipients! We’re so proud to support Mackay athletes as they continue to represent our region on the national and international stage💙💛

A huge congratulations to Barry Jansen on being awarded Life Membership of Queensland Cricket a thoroughly deserved recognition of almost five decades of service to the game.

Barry has made an extraordinary contribution to cricket in Mackay, across North Queensland and throughout Queensland Country. He was one of the forward-thinking people who helped shape Harrup Park into the precinct it is today, while also serving the game as an administrator, passionate supporter and former Queensland Cricket Board member.

To receive this honour during Queensland Cricket’s 150th year makes the recognition even more special.

From everyone at Harrup Park and the Mackay Cricket Association, congratulations Barry. Thank you for your outstanding contribution, dedication and passion for cricket over so many years.

A wonderful and well-deserved honour.
