200 Games – Brendan (S***t) Riddle πŸ™ŒπŸ”΄βšͺ️⚫️

Today we celebrate a remarkable milestone as S***t pulls on the red, white and black for the 200th time.

S***t's Saints story started as a kid coming through our junior ranks and has grown into one of the great club journeys. Along the way he helped drive the club into a Reserves Grand Final, famously kicking the winning goal and earning Best Under 21 honours on the big stage.

A knee injury may have altered what his football career could have become, but it never changed his commitment to the club. Instead, he became the ultimate Ressie and a proud Saints man through and through.

Congratulations on 200 games, S***t.

Welcome to Round 9 of the Allied Moving Services Australia Senior Men's competition.

Magpies Mackay Australian Football Club host Mackay City Hawks AFL Club at Magpies Sporting Club Mackay. The Hawks will be looking to bounce back after their first loss of the year before they had a last week off. I expect them to come out breathing fire as they look to prove the loss was a blip on the radar and they are a force to be reckoned with in 2026. The Magpies have struggled this year at both ends of the field and will be missing Joe Brooks off half back this week with his run and carry. Will Rose and Kurt Roderick could be in for big days if the Magpies can't control the game. this is the first meeting between the teams this year. Going on form it could be a David v Goliath contest and the Magpies will have to dig deep to and hope to keep it close and sneak a win.

the Bakers Creek Tigers Afl travel across town and over the bridge to meet the North Mackay Saints AFC at Zeolla Park. The Saint are in form winning 3 on the trot with Cameron Hill taking over on top of goal kicking leader board. Do the Tigers have an answer to stopping his involvement in the game? The Tigers are coming off a comfortable win against the Magpies, but the Saints will be a different challenge entirely. Maison Stass has only been available for 3 games this year leaving the Tigers short and without a spark up forward. The saint will continue to look for Cameron Hill up forward until someone find a way to stop his influence with Ty Jenkins as his loyal sidekick they have multiple avenues to goal. With young gun Zahn Bugeja providing a spark all over the ground the Tigers could be in for a long Day.

The Whitsunday Sea Eagles AFL Club travel down the highway to Roger's oval and take on the ladder leading Eastern Swans Australian Football Club. Last time they met the Swans only just got over the line in a 2-point thriller for which the Sea Eagles will be looking for revenge. The Swans will be without David Maniing with his transfer to Yeppoon football club confirmed and leading goal kicker Rocklyn Miller moving to Brisbane the Swans are down at least 1 maybe 2 important players for the rest of the year. The Swans next best goal kicker is Kyle Roberts averaging 1 goal a game. They will need to big uptick in his contribution or a new target for the Swans to continue their winning run. Will they look to promote Rodney Barba up from the reserves who is the leading goal kicker averaging 4 goals a game. The Sea Eagles need a win to leapfrog the Moranbah Bulldogs AFC who have a bye and stay in touch with 4th placed Tigers. If the Tigers loose then the Sea Eagles might even take 4th spot. The Swans need to keep winning to stay above the chasing Saints and Hawks who both have a superior %, a loss could see them drop to 3rd.

Round 9 of the Hit Mackay and the Whitsundays Senior Women's competition.

The Swagpies (Magpies Mackay Australian Football Club/Eastern Swans Australian Football Club) will host the Mackay City Hawks AFL Club in an important game for both sides. The Hawks sit 3rd and the Swagpies 4th both on 8 points. Whoever wins will move into 3rd an get a little buffer on the chasers. The Swagpies will look to Alice Hill to provide the leadership with 90 games under her belt and in the Best Players for 49 of them. Lani Minster shows skills and polish exceeding her age and will look to help provide forward entries for the Swagpies and maybe even sneak in goal or two herself. Madeline Johnstone will lead the way for the Hawks as she edges closer to 150 career games. The Hawks have been a mixed bag this year with 2 close losses the reigning premier Tigress some very good wins and what seems to be par for league so far this year in a 10-goal loss to the Saints. The Teams haven't met this year so this weekend's game could go a long way to deciding 3rd. Will the Hawks experience hold sway or will the young Swagpies prove too much.

Moranbah Bulldogs AFC travel down the hill to meet the Whitsunday Sea Eagles AFL Club at Rogers Oval. The Sea Eagles will be hoping to increase the gap on the Bulldogs on the ladder as they are likely to move into the 4 with a win. A Bulldogs win would create a logjam for 4th sport with 3 team potentially being on equal points come Saturday night. So far the teams are 1 win each against each other with both teams winning their home encounter. Now we see a neutral venue to test both teams. Both teams have struggled when it comes to hitting the scoreboard however the Bulldog's have 3 players in the top 20 goal kickers but as the Sea Eagles defied the odds last week and became the first team to scire against the Saints this year. let's see who travels better.

This is the game we have all been waiting for as we see the 2 undefeated teams of 2026 lock horns. The North Mackay Saints AFC sit atop the ladder with 24 points and thanks to conceding last week (Finally) they boast a % of 9600. The reigning back-to-back premiers Bakers Creek Tigers Afl are 4 points back and looking to draw level on points. The Saints continued their winning ways at Airlie Beach last week even with leading goal kicker Lyneeka missing through injury. they boast 6 of the top 7 goal kickers and we can't deny their ability to kick a big score. Will Lyneeka be back this week or injury keep her out longer? The Tigress are a tight group who know how to handle big games and big pressure. The Saints in 2026 seem to be different beast and on home soil should be too much but you never know what experience and pressure can do a team on any given day.

The Triple M Mackay & The Whitsundays Reserves cup continues this week with round 9.

Magpies Mackay Australian Football Club welcome the Mackay City Hawks AFL Club. The Hawks will have a tough task this week as they challenge the unbeaten Magpies at Magpies Sporting Club Mackay. The magpies have plenty of scoring options with 4 of the top 6 goal kickers so far this year. Jarrod Fleiter sits second on the leader board and leads the Magpies with 18 goals and in the best players in 5 of the 6 games so far. With Thomas Roney, Mat Bowerman and Riley Allen all in double figures as well that plenty of avenues to goal. The Hawks will need to rely on the midfield to deny the Magpies forwards opportunities to have any chance. Control will be the key if the Hawks can control the ball and keep it off the Magpies then they just might have a chance in a close game, if the Magpies can keep it open and make it a goal kicking competition then it could get ugly for the Hawks.

North Mackay Saints AFC and Bakers Creek Tigers Afl are both coming off a loss and will be looking to bounce back. The Saints struggling against the swans under lights last week while the Tigers were on the wrong eld of a 10-goal loss to the Magpies. The last time these 2 met back in round 6 it was the Saints who were comfortable 50-point winners. With the Saints winning 2 of their last 3 and the Tigers struggling this year it hard to see how the Tigers leave Zeolla Park with a win.
