Queensland Golden Gloves 2026 — Wrap Up

Queensland Golden Gloves 2026- all finished for another year and what a massive tournament it was. Over 900 fighters and 650 fights across 5 days in 3 rings… absolutely crazy 🤯

All five of our boxers put everything on the line across the tournament. They were tested physically, mentally, and emotionally. These types of events are not for the faint‑hearted, they push athletes right to their limits. I’m proud of every single one of them. We always bring high‑level boxing, professionalism, and respect to every opponent, win or lose.

Huge thanks to Boxing Queensland the tournament was unreal and the venue was next level 👌🏼
Big love to Marrta great seeing you and seeing you doing so well.
Also massive appreciation to The Boxing Shop for the hospitality.

And of course
Massive shout‑out to all our sponsors 🙌🏼
Your support makes trips like this possible. We couldn’t do it without you🔥🔥

Not the result we wanted today, but Ashton Ciantar absolutely fought his heart out. Going into the final round it was still very even I actually thought Ashton might’ve been slightly ahead, but the last round became the decider, with Ashton getting out‑pointed in the closing moments. 🥈

I have to say, this has been Ashton’s best tournament yet. He’s been super focused, locked in, and it’s some of the best boxing I’ve seen from him.

Well done mate 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Last two fights for the day.

Kayla Kayla De Jager stepped in for her third fight in three days and delivered her best performance of the whole tournament.
It wasn’t the result we were chasing, but she boxed out of her skin. I genuinely thought we might’ve snatched the win, but it wasn’t to be. All three of her opponents were tough as nails, and Kayla met every challenge head‑on.What an incredible effort across the entire tournament 👏🏼🔥

Last up was Raphael
We took on a 6ft 10, 135kg giant we’ve seen floating around the circuit for the past year.
With that massive reach and weight advantage, we knew we had to box smart: levels, spacing, and discipline. Raph stayed light on the toes, boxed beautifully, and made it extremely hard for his opponent to trap him.He kept that tempo for all three rounds and secured the win 🏅

Two more on tomorrow

Shayan Nasradden | PT & Coach had her first fight tonight at the Queensland Golden Gloves. 👏🏼👏🏼🔥
Coming over with no actual match up in her division, we had to Hustle and look around for a challenge bout and we found her one against a tough local girl. Shay didn't get the win but she put on an amazing performance in a super close fight.
Well done Shay, cant wait to see you in there again💯

One win and one learn to start the day.

First up was Blake Axford, matched with a taller opponent. Blake started beautifully, using his levels well and settling into the fight early. Heading into the third it was close, and we knew he needed to lift just a touch. He pushed, but lost a bit of composure in the final moments. Great fight nonetheless 👏🏼

Second on was Ashton Ciantar, who looked focused and calm from the moment we got to the venue. As soon as the bell rang, Ashton put his foot down, controlling the space, using his levels, and pushing forward relentlessly. He forced an early 8 count, then immediately applied pressure again to earn a second quick 8 count, prompting the referee to stop the bout. Ashton moves into the final tomorrow 💪🏼🔥
