Meet Coach Ruby: The Heart and Sparkle of Gym Wizards ✨

For 18 years, Ruwayda Isaacs, affectionately known as Coach Ruby, has been part of the Gym Wizards family.

With more than 25 years of experience in sport, education and coaching, Coach Ruby brings something truly special to every session. She has a happy, sparkling personality, a wonderful way with children, and that perfect balance of being soft but stern, kind but consistent.

But what makes Coach Ruby so special goes beyond her qualifications and experience. She has a way of making children feel seen, valued and capable. She celebrates their little victories, encourages them when things get difficult, and helps them discover what they are capable of.

As the mother figure of Gym Wizards, she brings warmth, care and a whole lot of love to our gymnastics family.

We are so grateful for everything you bring to Gym Wizards, Coach Ruby. ❤️

Meet Robin Appolis

We’re excited to introduce the newest member of the Gym Wizards team, Robin Appolis, who joins us as our new Operations Manager and Coach.

With over eight years of experience coaching children in fitness and movement since 2018, Robin brings a unique combination of coaching experience and educational expertise to Gym Wizards.

As a qualified Foundation Phase teacher, Robin has a strong understanding of how children learn, move and develop. She has a particular passion for foundational gross motor skills, using movement, tumbling and agility to help children build coordination, confidence and physical ability from the ground up.

But for Robin, coaching is about more than learning physical skills. She believes movement plays an important role in developing focus, spatial awareness, resilience and self-belief.

We’re excited to have Robin bringing her energy, experience and passion to Gym Wizards, both on the floor with our gymnasts and behind the scenes as part of our management team.

Fancy equipment can create exciting opportunities, but it takes a knowledgeable, certified coach to teach children how to move safely, build skills correctly and grow in confidence.

At Gym Wizards, we believe great coaching matters more than having the fanciest equipment.
