On Saturday, December 6, 12 members of the Foundations Fitness powerlifting team took part in an historic event – one of the largest female-only meets in Kansas Powerlifting history - the Iron Maidens.
had a super strong day setting all the state records, despite coming back from a broken toe this past summer that left her unable to squat.
improved in all her lifts at just her second meet ever.
showed her grit and competitiveness by coming back on her 3rd attempt deadlift to secure a PR match at 314lbs.
Rachel Brown competed in just her second meet post-brain aneurysm. She secured post-stroke PRs in both lifts.
made HUGE improvements adding 59lbs to her total. She set the state record bench with her opener and attempted a state record squat, taking a 4th attempt after securing a 22lb PR on her 3rd.
showed her resilience after a tough prep by smashing all the current state records & adding 38lbs to her previous total in the 75kg weight class.
says “The bar is light and I love to squat!” And squat she did! She secured the squat and total state records while adding 22lbs to her current squat platform PR.
showed up as always and surprised herself with a 237lb deadlift. Her 4th attempt at 242lbs was called for a soft lockout, but we’re taking a gym PR!
had a tough day after a great prep, but still attempted a state record squat and matched her deadlift PR (after which she promptly blacked out, but she’s ok!).
stepped back on the platform after a brief hiatus and we’re excited to see how we continue to build on a solid 6/9 day.
had a strong day setting all the state records including this 192lb squat.
And competed with her team for the very first (and probably last 🤣🫣) time ever, going 7/9 and ending the day on a high note with an easy 303lb deadlift.
