Every apparel program has a line item nobody tracks: the units that were paid for and never worn.
It comes from ordering against an estimated size break. The estimate is close enough to feel safe and wrong enough to matter. Medium and large sell out, the ends of the run go untouched, and a second order gets placed to cover the gap. You end up paying twice and storing the difference.
Choice portals solve it at the front of the process. Each recipient receives a private link, selects their item and size, and the portal aggregates real counts before anything goes into production. You order what people asked for instead of what you projected.
For teams planning Q4 apparel or gifting programs, this is the single easiest place to stop losing budget.
