It’s very common for people with Parkinson’s to complain of shoulder pain. Many people think it’s a rotator cuff injury. While it may be, often the pain stems from shoulder blade tightness or dysfunction. Treating the muscles between the shoulder blades is a great first step in restoring range of motion, which may in turn decrease shoulder pain. Watch this video to learn more about Parkinson’s shoulder pain and how treating shoulder blade dysfunction starts with a simple stretch:

Happy Father's Day from the Rebel Fit Club!

This is my dad, Paul. The wonderful man who had one more kid at age 55. He taught me to get up early and work hard, taking care of horses, and other chores, love our hobbies; like woodworking, gardening, and look beyond health limitations (many from WWII). Most of all family was everything. Everything we did was "beautiful". đź’ś

A recent graduate of our virtual 5-week Balance Builder program had this to say about their experience:
"Thank you so much for putting this great program together! I am definitely making progress, and I look forward to revisiting the exercises and your videos. This has been fun in a way I hadn't anticipated, and while I've still got a long way to go there is light at the end of the tunnel!"

Many discussions about exercise and Parkinson’s focus on reaching 80-85% of your maximum heart rate. Research shows that high-intensity aerobic exercise offers many benefits, but there's an important point that sometimes gets lost: for many people, reaching 85% of max heart rate is difficult or impossible. Joint pain, balance issues, fatigue, medications, heart conditions, mobility limitations, or simply being new to exercise can make high-intensity training unrealistic. That doesn’t mean exercise is no longer beneficial. Click below to watch my latest video and learn why 85% of HR max isn’t the whole story for Parkinson’s exercise:

Lights, music, and unstoppable energy 💥🎶

Our PD Rebel Performance Project lit up the stage at the 2026 World Parkinson Congress with a high-energy Show Tune Medley featuring favorites from Footloose and Grease. The crowd didn’t just watch… they joined in! 👏 And the magic didn’t stop there. Clips from this unforgettable performance were featured during the World Parkinson’s Congress closing ceremony! 🌍✨

This is what Rebel Fit Club is all about: community, confidence, and showing the world what’s possible. 💪💜

The vestibular system is your body’s internal balance center. Together with your vision and sensation from your muscles and joints, it helps you stay upright and move safely through your environment. For people with Parkinson’s, balance can become more challenging. If the vestibular system is not regularly challenged, it can become less effective at helping the brain maintain balance. With Parkinson’s Disease, standing on one leg can be daunting. When I’m evaluating new clients, they tell me they hate standing on one leg because it never gets better, no matter how much they practice. Tight tissue in the ankles and calves can have a huge effect on your ability to stand on one foot. Click below to learn about a great routine to help increase your time and confidence standing on one leg:
