A huge THANK YOU to all of the volunteers who come out on Thursday and Friday to help clean, brush and paint at Pioneer Park! Outer Coast College Summer Program students, AARP Sitka Community Action Team and Sitka Recreation Foundation volunteers, you all ROCK!

Cleaned up the main shelter, painted the facade and picnic benches, cleared brush along the trails and around some of the picnic areas and restrooms.

Thanks to the AARP Community Challenge grant AARP AARP Alaska AARP Foundation , the Crescent Harbor Pickleball Project is helping create more opportunities for people of all ages to stay active, connect, and enjoy shared public spaces. From setting up the courts to welcoming participants, every volunteer and community partner played a role in making this event possible.

Recently, volunteers came together at the Swan Lake Senior Center to help refresh and beautify the space for local seniors.
Working together, they helped create a cleaner, more welcoming environment and demonstrated the power of community service in Sitka 💙
